from jw.org, here is the new definition of the generation from the april 15, 2010 watchtower.. .
article: holy spirits role in the outworking of jehovahs purpose.
13 third, holy spirit is at work in bringing bible.
Thanks to http://www.quotes-watchtower.co.uk/1914_generation.html
Watchtower 1988 October 15 p.4 The Sign—Are You Heeding It?
Might it be, though, that the sign could occur over the span of many human generations? No. The sign is to occur during one particular generation. The same generation that witnessed the beginning of the sign will also witness its climax
There is, however, the danger of becoming impatient. Seventy-four years have passed since the outbreak of World War I in 1914. From a human viewpoint, this may seem a very long time. But some eagle-eyed Christians who saw World War I are still very much alive. Their generation has not passed away.

All quite laughable really................
...............until you remember that these are the same men whose teachings cause people to die from their
criminal blood policy.
Then the fun kind of dissipates, to be replaced, in my case at least, with renewed disgust bordering ever too closely on downright anger and hatred.

As On The Way Out said on another post, this makes me as angry as the 1995 change.
Those men at Brooklyn wouldn't know their own arse if it bit them.
was browsing the youtubes this morning and came across this gem.. hope you all enjoy it as much as i did .

The great late Dave Allen
imagine the best case scenario.
the watchtower society implodes from within even making final printed admissions that it is voluntarily dismantling it's mission and legally dissolving the corporations.
oh happy day!
Apart from what I call 'old timers' who came in of their own volition in the 50's, 60's and 70's I don't think it would be that much of a big deal to most Witnesses. They would quickly find they've now got more time on their hands to carry on socialising with each other. 'Ah well, it wasn't the Truth after all. Where to Saturday night?'
The 'old timers' would be in denial and consider it a sign that Armageddon was even more imminent and be beyond help in most cases.
maybe arrogance is not the right word but i can find no other that describes what i see.
the idea expressed by some christians on this board is that somehow god specifically chose them.
i'll quote perry as an example as his post inspired this thread.
Surely when people say 'Jesus died for me' they actually mean 'God killed Jesus for me' or 'God allowed Jesus to be sacrificed/killed for me'.
Am I missing something?
big j sent his son little j to earth as a 'human' sacrifice.
the fact that little j was allegegdly about 30 years of age when the deed was done shouldn't take away from the my concept of christianity being based on child sacrifice.. imagine the hullabaloo if jesus had been 7 years of age when he was nailed up.. there is a precedent of course for the whole 'i need a sacrificial child' thing .

blood transfusions 101 for jw's-.
a blood transfusion will not save the life of a starving man = a blood transfusion is not food = a blood transfusion does not violate the ot law given by god to the jews to, "not eat blood" and that was later reiterated by the jewish christians to the gentile christians = the watchtower no-blood transfusion doctrine is a manmade abomination that kills innocent people = the watchtower society is guilty of promoting manslaughter.. .
=all members of the Watchtower Society(including me when in it) are bloodguilty

Bearing in mind that Christianity is based primarily on child sacrifice (Big J puts Little J on earth for one reason)
you'd think they would be a little bit more embarrassed.
People are people, some are arrogant some are not. A lot of religious people are arrogant. They have to be because after all they have a direct line to the supreme being in the whole universe. Not a lot of people have that. I certainly don't. If I did, I'd think I was the best thing since sliced bread.
