It might cost them a few members, but the majority will be
told that it is the satan-controlled media distorting the facts
again, and they will accept that and carry on.
It might make the ministry interesting for a while though.
will the child abuse situation blow up in the society's faces?.
how world wide do you think its effects will be and when?.
i am only interested to know because if i share with other witnesses i'd like to know how much they will of heard and how much it'll matter, at the moment it seems its not recieved as much media attention as he catholic church for example, will this change?.

michael porter, an elder in the religion, pleaded guilty to 24 counts of indecent assault and gross indecency on 13 victims aged 18 months and older.
among the individuals were others involved in the faith.
When Tina later became a single mum, hypocrite Porter claimed she was guilty of a mortal sin and shunned her. She said: "He didn't approve of sex out of wedlock and said I'd condemned my child to death." Yet he molested kids in the religious community, convinced its reclusive nature would keep his secret hidden.
He didn't approve of sex outside of marriage eh? I wonder what sexual
pleasures HE was enjoying when he made that comment. What a
hypocrite.
Still, it's impossible to be married to an 18 month old child anyway.
from channel c (today).
you may have read something similar to this before but the specific details are interesting.. this was put on a uk forum by an xjw called gordon...he gave me permission to use his post.. .

Very intersting Fedor.
I hope the watchtower monitor these sites regularly. I doubt they
like the majority of what they read, and the less brainwashed ones
among them might even learn something other than the bs that
they are subjected to on a daily basis by the org.
no, i'm not recommending this, it's just what it says on one of the.
buildings at brooklyn bethel.
i wonder if they will remove it in light of the september km question box.
Excellent Mary!
I thought of using the caption: "All welcome here, even paedophiles"
It kind of seems that way anyway
do you still pray?
how are your prayers different now that you're not a jw?
what do your prayers involve?

Exactly how I feel about prayer.
we did it by reducing television and air conditioner usage, being more conservative about using the oven, getting rid of an old freezer, and changing our light bulbs.
.
i'm very proud of us!
Good for you Rebel!
We use low energy lightbulbs in every room, and that has made a
differrence to our bill. We've also stopped leaving the pc on standby
when it's not in use.

Good spot Slim.
I have seen that before, but didn't really think about it's signicance until
your post, although we all know that the magazines, especially the
watchtower, are far more important than the bible itself in wttchtower
land.

diatribe on bible study, or maybe change it to say "Don't Read God's Word
The Bible Daily Unless You Have A Watchtower Publication Handy"?

Thanks for the update Danny, it's good to see that the papers here
aren't letting this matter drop.
Let's hope it shames the watchtower into giving Porter a lot more than
a slap on the wrist, though I'm not holding my breath waiting for that
to happen, and that there is a successful appeal against the light
sentence he received, a retrial, and a long spell in prison, which is
where he should be, following that.

However, this topic has the capacity to stick in the mind of anyone who hears about.
I suspect that more than a few JWs are utterly wretched and embarrassed at the very fact that they are known by friends, colleagues and family as a member of what is obviously a cult.
I would hope so Gill. Anyone with any decency would be appalled at not
only this mans' crimes but also his punishment, if one can call it that.
Most jws may spout the wts mantra "jehovah is the judge" when challenged
about this case, and I'd be amazed if no one has mentioned it to those
who were on the ministry in the last few days, but what they really feel
about it may me somewhat differrent, especially if they have young children
of their own. Maybe something like this will get a few more questioning
what they are really involved in. Let's hope so.
