I am currently still considered a JW, just inactive, so is my husband and we no longer believe in that CRAP, but still painfully attend some meetings as we are still faders.

No she was only studying, her mom is an active JW, I am not sure if Abraham her father is DF'd or just does his own thing now.

IS THERE A SAFE/EFFECTIVE WAY?

now that i'm single again i face the same problem that many baby boomers face: how in the world do you meet somebody??.

i don't go to bars.. i don't like smokers.. i am not nutty enough to be attracted to young and dumb.. crazy music isn't my cup o' tea.. i like conversation with at least some minimal content.. online dating service seem outrageously weird to me.. what's a poor lad to do?.

any reccomendations?

Terry, I don't think you will have a problem, why with your looks (if that's your picture) your intellect, and your musical talents, I think you'd be a great catch! If I were ever single again I think i'de try e-harmony.com, this way you can save alot of time and heartache going after someone who's totally wrong for you.
The suggestion of doing things you love, and meeting potential people there is also a good idea. I wish you luck Terry, let us know when you meet the lucky woman. Also, if you look and act young for your age take advantage of it, look for someone that falls in that age range, something like 40 and up, by this time women have more substance.

I LOVE TEXAS , especially the skies here, when we first arrived in Texas I was amazed at the beauty of the skies it sometimes looks like a painting, just beautiful.
The bluebonnets in spring
The wonderful grape bubble gum smell of the Mountain Laurel trees
The hills
My big beautiful home with a view that I would have cost about 2 million in NY $175,000 here
The Riverwalk
Travis Lake in Austin, beautiful
and so much more, which is why I'm staying here!
PS, I'm in good company with all my wonderful fellow Apostates!

it's really good to read stories of other people that have experienced some of the same things i have.

i haven't ever posted or even talked to another ex-jw except for my uncle who i have just recently started a relationship with.

the sad thing is that i am 30 years old and i am still struggling with the past....i'm soo sick of it.

DEFENDING THE LIE----by avoiding the truth about THE TRUTH

it is surprising how intellectually dishonest an otherwise wonderful person can be; (a loved one) when it comes to holding on to.

a horrible lie.. you see it everyday.

a woman will defend her husband against child-molesting and disbelieve her own daughter.

Terry that was BRILLIANT!!!! , their truth just doesn't hold up under scrutiny, does it? I agree that writing on this DB is more helpfull than writing a book because the active JW would never step foot in a religious book store or walk over to that section a Barnes & Noble lest they be singled out by someone who might see them! But here, all the lurkers can read this information and remain anonymous and they can do this in their homes, also they can compare their WTS books against what is said here and see that we aren't what the WTS portrays us to be ie "Evil Apostates, who do nothing but lie", no my freinds, they can see that if you are looking for actual truth you can find it here, where we have nothing to hide, no religion to protect, just unbiased facts and freedom to draw your own conclusions.
