there are some things i need to prove to my mum, here they are... .

firstly the cuneiform tablet with part of the babylonian chronicle (605-594).

before i discuss this with mum i need to know that this is accepted fact and nothing will change what it says or affect its content.

Is there depression in the new system???

I was wondering this morning when looking at some commercial for depression medication, if the WTS owns stock in a major pharmaceutical company that manufactures anti depressants? if they do, they are creating and maintaining their own client base, just a thought in this inquiring mind!

Quick survey for apostates - please everyone just yes or no answer

do the other witnesses with whom you associate/once associated in general know that you are an apostate or have apostate inclinations?

the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.

in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".

Some think I have apostate inclinations (close JW family) - doubt 1914, end time theory and such

Mostly don't know

And some others know for sure I am out of the JW mentality because we have helped to enlighten them and they are now out mentally also, hurray!!!

further to the thread that minimus stated about 'still believing'....what i want to know is do any of you stil believe in jehovah?

that is, the named god of the bible that sanctioned the genocide of millions of unbelievers.

as the israelites came into the 'promised land' god told them to devote to destruction 7 populous nations and not let a breathing thing live, or in other words commit genocide!!!

Hat's off to you Narkissos, very well said, the more I research the Hebrews/Jews the more I see that these were nomads who needed a history and heroes to feel up to par with the other Civilizations which were much more advanced, so they borrowed or stole ideas, heroes, stories and used them as their own to give their people a sense of self importance and reverence for some mountain God that would punish them gravely if they didn't do as they were told. The Hebrews were not monotheistic at first, that came later after they were introduced to these ideas in Babylon. Anyway, oh yeah, the question do I still believe in Jehovah? that is a resounding HELL NO!!!!! I believe in God the Creator whoever he/she is, but the bible God, nope no way he was an evil, vindictive and jealous bastard!

Hi Sole and Welcome to JWDB , my husband is from a border town (border with Mexico) and he knows that the majority of brothers there were completely aware of this bribing thing, you see they have family and freinds across in Mexico, so they know how things are done there, so yes, this is 100% true, my husband and I are still "officialy" JW's. We are currently attending some meetings, but no longer believe the JW's are the true religion, we are what is called faders, we still have family and longtime freinds in this religion and are still trying to help as many as we can to come out of this Cult. I hope you do alot of reading here because there's alot of great information and we are blessed to have some great people on this forum, very intelligent and caring people. Enjoy your stay, post often and ask questions I'm sure someone will provide you with answers.

Never throw away those Watchtowers and Awakes!

it is a sin to throw away your watchtowers and awakes.

you must let them build up and up and up, until you need to store them in boxes that will be places in corners of the attic or basement.

when you find them years later, still do not throw them away or you will die at armageddon!

Wow blondie that's crazy, burying and hiding literature LOL, but hey, that mentality is similar to my mom's. All of our experiences would make for one bizarre and funny movie!

Ya'll are gonna laugh, but, my mom the pioneer would say that we should save all the old mags because when the persecution starts and we can no longer congregate, we can read all those old mags for spiritual food, and pass them on to those that had to flee with nothing , Oh now I feel sooooo stooooopid, because I really believed that CRAP!!!!!! Today I can proudly say, that I have DUMPED all those garbage bags full of WTS GARBAGE OUT !!!
