I agree with you, I don't think any country has the right to tell another what they can and cannot do, hey if Pakistan can have them then I think Iran should be allowed to.

i always think of the united states, russia, france and china.
what shocked me, were pakistan, and india also have nuclear weapons.

Will the wts face a Muslim backlash over the new tract?
by fullofdoubtnow inthey do, after all, classify all religions apart from theirs as false, and we've seen in the last few days that it doesn't take much to inflame the more militant factions of islam.
there's a large muslim community around here, and i can't see some of them taking kindly to being labelled a false religion.. this may not be the best time for the wts to be distributing such "information", but i expect they will go ahead, oblivious as to the sort of reaction it may provoke.
i hope that nothing much comes of this campaign, but in the sensitive times in which we all live, i can't help wondering....

Fullofdoubtnow, yes I meant the muslims here in the US, as I doubt the WTS would be dumb enough to preach in muslim countries. As much as I would like to see the WTS fold, I do not wish them physical harm. But I do think that if the muslims perceive that the witnesses are trying to convert them by making their people think of their religion as a false one there might be trouble. Maybe the GB wants to anger people against the JW's so their dreamed up and much anticipated "Tribulation" can start and in this way scare the ones that have left into returning (I don't think that can happen) and getting the faders (like myself) to stay (and I know that ain't happening).

Welcome Kitten Whiskas ! This site is awesome! There are great people on here as you probably already noticed, a whole lot to read, and many different opinions, but you are free to make up your own mind and not be shunned for it, what is great here is that some of us may have different beliefs yet we mostly get along great. My husband my 2 kids and I are on our way out also, haven't gone to a meeting in over 2 months which is the longest without going so far, and it's wonderful not to have to waste my precious time listening to that mind numbing stuff. We have helped quite a few out also. Today I can honestly say that we are happier and more at peace than we have ever been, we basically believe in God and thats all. Good luck on your journey!

Regarding what Muslims think about JW's - a while back I was lurking on a Muslim forum and they were talking about the JW's saying how this is the most dangerous religion to them , because the JW's don't keep their beliefs to themselves like most christians, they instead go out and try to convert people into their religion - I kid you not! I was very surprised when I saw this, because I didn't even think they knew the JW's existed, but trust me they had alot of info on the WTS, they were talking about all the date setting, and they even had a scanned copy of a watchtower from the 70's the one that talked about 1975 being a very important date. So yes let them take this tract to the nearby mosque or to the home of radicals and see how Jehovah will protect the them if they are attacked.

Does the Pope have to apologize to the Muslims?

a world leader of a country, has certain diplomatic concerns about what they say and do.
however, does a religious leader have these same concerns?

NO he should not! I am not a christian and couldn't care less about the Pope but by their actions they have shown that what he said is true, I think that the main reason these people react this way to any little criticism of their religin is because of ignorance, they are never allowed unbiased exposure to the outside world, they are fed hatred towards the outside world since they are children and this is what they really believe, If these people were allowed to make their own decisions and were free to challenge their beliefs, many of them would leave, the leaders know this, and hence the problems we have today. Much like the control the WTS has on R & F, they cannot question their beliefs, or read material that criticizes it, because the leaders know what the end result would be, except that the WTS wouldn't kill you for leaving.

It's really amazing isn't it? They can criticize and make fun of christians (not that I'm one) but if anyone makes fun of their religion there is hell to pay? What BS. Why are they not allowed to question their religion and opt out of it if they change their minds? A belief system that cannot be scrutinized has something seriously wrong with it. If something is true no amount of investigating will prove it otherwise, the only place where there is absolute truth is in nature, everything else has been invented by someone, for example we know that we need oxygen to breath, you can investigate all you want and the facts will still remain the facts.

Can close proximity to Jehovah ruin the faith of exJW's?
by truthseeker inthis is a point i have been thinking about for a long time.. in the organization, we are not encouraged to have a personal relationship with jesus - not even a nominal one.
the society even published a book entitled "draw close to jehovah", encouraging everyone to get to know their creator.. there is nothing wrong with getting to know god, but when you look at this aspect in context of the jehovah's witness faith, it is possible that after learning about the cult, our relationship with jehovah is ruined.
we are told to pray to jehovah on a daily basis.

I agree with you, that JW's put too much enfasis on Jehovah mostly and rarely Jesus. But, all I can tell you is to research just who the Bible's Jehovah really is, there was a post on this a couple of days ago, I'm not saying that there is no God or Creator because I really believe there is, just not the one mentioned in the Bible. There is a very deep rabbit hole when it comes to religion, but to get at the truth you have to be willing to take the pill, like in the movie "The Matrix" and see what a dreamworld we have all been living in. It's scary at first but once your eyes are opened free - like the very Bible says "you will learn the truth and the truth will set you free". The Jesus thing, I suggest you go to the website www.jesusneverexisted.com check it out there is alot of information on there, this will help you see what a load of BS has been dropped on all of us for all these years. Good luck on your journey. Mine has brough me to a place of peace and happiness as I have never felt before.
