This forum was essential for my deprogramming back in 2006, haven't posted anything in a long time, do still check in to keep up with things in the JW cult since my Mom and some other family members are still in. I have been thinking of being more active here since the Leah Remini show. Thank you guys for all you do!! -

I think that putting this man in front of an audience or on JW TV is a great idea, seeing more of this crap spewing buffoon can only help accelerate the exit of many Jdubs, hopefully anyway.

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

Why Do You No Longer Believe in God?
by Tenacious ini know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?

Let me first say, that I no longer believe in the God of the bible, nor in Jesus, nor that the bible itself is anything other than what most of you understand to be nothing more than myths, stories etc., put together by a small group of priests to help control the flock.
I have not posted on here for years, although I check in every day, the conclusions I have come to in my journey after leaving the JW's are the following, just based on my personal research, not that this is the ultimate truth I don't believe anyone has access to that, at least not yet;
I do believe in a creative force of some kind, not a benevolent creator as described in many religious traditions, I don't think it watches over us in the classic sense, but I do think it has intervened at times to put certain things in motion (ie., certain inventions, knowledge and people that have come along in history, when reading how about them, it seems there was some force guiding things to achieve the final outcome which made major impacts in the world we know today)
If we are eternal spiritual beings living a human experience (Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.), which is the conclusion I've reached after reading not just that book but also about children with past life memories and many other sources, then what goes on here on earth would make so much more sense, there is positive and negative things happening, if we are eternal and get to come back after death to live endless lives why would we choose to only know what it's like to be bad, or good, or rich or poor, or healthy or sick and so on. Would we not choose to experience all that there is, if no matter what we experienced it is only that, an experience? I also do believe that either spirit beings or something at times assists humans, I have experienced it myself, I don't know why some people and not others, it doesn't make sense to me. I know that this idea will seem really out there for many, and I like I said, who really knows the ultimate truth, it just makes more sense to me.
You guys are all so awesome! I so enjoy reading what you all have to say.

No, the god Jehovah, evolved over thousands of years. The information is easy to find, search for the "Hebrew God and where he came from". There's also hints in the bible, I can't believe I never saw it, for 30 years in witness world. The Jehovah character was a lesser god, when the almighty god or "El (according to the bible) was assigning each lesser god a group of peoples (which in ancient times was the norm) he gave Israel to YHWH or Jehovah and this was his inheritance from "El" (Deuteronomy 32:8-9). I recommend getting a Hebrew interlinear, if not it's really hard to distinguish when they are referring to YHWH or El, it's cleverly been translated "Lord" and "Almighty God", I did my research using the interlinear if not, I don't think I ever would have ever seen the "Truth". Also, there's references in the bible of the "Volcanic" nature of YHWH in the beginning.

Your Opinion: Do You Believe In The Idea Of Having One Soulmate In Your Life?
by minimus ini know some couples that truly believe this.. what's your view?
do you believe there's a soulmate out there for you?.
-
ICBehindtheCurtain
I used to, but now I know better. There's so many people we could be compatible with, that soulmate idea, to me, is just a fantasy.

Hi Winston, welcome to our wonderful community! You can read my story when you get a chance, I was in the "Lie" for over 30 years, spent about a year researching the WTS and realized I had been duped. Happily I can report that my husband and kids have been liberated, and so have my brothers and sisters, and my best freind and her kids. My mom however is another story, she's still a reg. pioneer and at her age, I know she will die there. Life has never been better now that we are all mentally free! I wish you the best with your wife, keep us posted, there's great people on here who will support and help you in your journey!
Good Luck!
