Would YOU kill someone if you felt they really deserved to die?
by gaiagirl incould be anyone, osama bin laden, oj simpson, pat robertson, someone who personally hurt you or your family, anyone at all.
would you pull the trigger, throw the switch, etc, which would end someones life?
would it make a difference if no one would ever know, versus everyone knowing?

I have no problem using self-defense to kill someone. Same goes with a situation where someone's else's life is in danger and killing the perpetrator would stop the crime.
I've also often thought about what I would do if a family member were murdered. I think I would wait a few years and then kill the person who killed a family member.

Since the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia have become a has-been. With less than half of the US population and a negative population growth rate, there's not much Russia could do these days to "regain" the glory of the soviet days.

Do Not Be Misled. They're Not That Bright.
by metatron inonce upon a time, i can remember gb member gangas asking prepared questions at the lunch table - to show how smart he supposedly.
i can remember knorr not keeping track of critical needs supporting bible production - and boring all of us with his windy, cold hearted.
judgements at breakfast.

WTBTS is a classic case in organizational dynamics. The corporation is not unique in that respect. Having been in a dysfunction organization, it's apparent that, as with many dysfunctional organization, the GB is operates through simple inertia. The bureaucracy is what really runs the organization and maintains the intertia. it's likely that the GB is rather ineffective in actually managing the organization's day to day business.
In other words, the GB just rides the wave and likely goes with what the top-level bureaucrats produce.

So....here's my story....
by CordyC inhey guys, it's me- cordy, again with my life story of being in the jws.
i've lived in new york city almost all of my life and have been associated with the jws way too long- since i was a little kid- 8 years old in 1987, plus my mom studied as early as 1983. my mom didn't get baptized until 1995 and i myself got baptized at the age of 17 iin 1996. i know we were probably on a list at some point as a "non-progressive" bible study since it took us so long to get baptized.
my mom and dad split in 1993 and that year was great because we were barely at meetings....then we got a shepherding call and my mom got sucked right back in.

CAT or DOG - Why?
by hamsterbait ini am amazed at the almost complete polarization between cat and dog lovers.. .
i know few who love both.. .
cat lovers argue that cats are more intelligent than dogs.

I prefer cats. I have two. I tell people that my cats and I form a triumvirate that rules my home. They defintely jointly run the place and they tend to make decisions without me when I'm not there.
Anyone ever see the movie Cats and Dogs? Both my cats are evil dictators at heart.

Do you dare post your most embarrassing photo? Shall I post mine?
by nicolaou inso i've changed my avatar - again!
i don't know what's wrong with me at the moment, i can't seem to settle on one picture for more than a week!
anyway, the current pic' is one of me when i was 7 or 8.. thing is, it's just a facial crop from the one photo i am perhaps more embarrassed of than any other.

Thanks everyone, these are all great ideas. Well, except for rollerskating - I'm too uncoordinated.
Keep the ideas coming!
