Using a technology called "Pico Cells", the system will work as a link between the airliner and ground towers. According to the press release, it is currently impossible to connect by cell phone in a plane that is above 4,000 feet. During the Republican National Convention in New York City last month, Deena Burnett, widow of Flight 93 victim Tom Burnett, spoke of the four telephone calls she received from her husband aboard the doomed airliner on September 11th, all of which were received from his cell phone, one of which lasted 13 minutes. With the FAA statement that Flight 93 never went below 29,000 feet until its' sudden fatal plunge, these two stories seem to be mutually exclusive. Either it is possible to make cell phone calls from a commercial jetliner in flight at cruising altitude - or it isn't. If it is already possible to use a cell phone on a plane, why is Qualcomm so excited about their Pico chip? If it is not possible to do so, there's an even bigger problem. Because there are no survivors of any of the 911 planes, the only "eyewitness" testimony we have is the paraphrased transcripts of phone calls made to family members. This is where we get the descriptions of "Arab looking men" with knives and box cutters, talking about "Allah". It is from these calls we hear the immortal and heroic "Let's roll!".   the fact that in the very beginning god created man and then woman and placed them in the garden of eden, then he told them that they could partake of all the fruits from the trees but that they shouldnt touch his tree.

  the tree of knowledgethat is like putting cookies in front of a kid and telling them that they cant eat them.

  then he allowed satan to speak to eve (through the serpent) and convince her to eat and then she would know all that was good and bad.

  Where is the MERCY in this equation? Seems like the bible's god is hell bent on justice, rules and punishment. Of all of god's characteristics, mercy seems to be his weakest. If he were a human, would you want to be his friend? That's why I no longer worship him. He's a wack job.

  From a Judaeo-Christian viewpoint, we are set up for failure. Other religions/world views/philsophies have kinder, gentler gods.

  Infidelity. I don´t believe in anything else, the cynic I am. It works.

  I've seen that work too...well not out & out infidelity but open marriages. I know a few married couples who swing and many years into their marriage the sex is still hot. Something about sleeping with other people makes your sex life with your regular mate more regular & exciting.

  just officially finished my christmas shopping and came home to drop everything off before i had to go pick up our oldest son at kindergarten.. i ran out to check the mail before leaving and 2 elders were walking up our steps.. one of them has been to our house before and he is the same one who did the despicable funeral talk at my husbands grandmothers funeral.. the conversation goes:.

  i called the wts legal office and your organisation has been informed that if you come to our home, call or send us mail you will be trespassing and it will be considered a form of harrassment and i will call the police.. elder bw - we came to see if ________ was home so we could speak to him about his intentions?.

  me - unlike you, my husband actually works for a living, he's at work like most decent people during the day!

  The fear of "spontaneous sex"

  when i was young and single and a witness.

  i remember often the fear older people had of putting young people together alone.

  not just for dating, but even leaving them in a car while an older couple went to a return visit.

  Yes but it was not just "young people". Opposite sex adults are not allowed to be alone even momentarily for the same reason.

  Yup...anyone dating in the JW religion is supposed to have a chaperone. The first and only time I dated in the religion was with a MS from another State. When he was scheduled to visit, I asked around the congregation to see who could put the brother up...NO ONE volunteered soooooo....he stayed with me :) Needless to say I was brought to the back room for a lil chat....lol

  i don't know if it's only our congregation or every congregation was the same, but no door to door was organized on christmas day.

  that was the only day of the year that the jw's in our area wouldn't go pest people.. wonder why?

  I went out one Christmas and offered the "Greatest Man..." book. For the most part, people were friendlier than usual and I placed quite a few books that day (no donations tho...lol)
