by restrangled inmy kids are grown and the pets they grew up with are now getting into their senior years.. how sweet they are.

she's a big fat furry tuxedo cat...... prissy as they ever came and still crosses her front paws when she lays down.

I have an older cat who is 12 or 13 years old now. She has long hair so every now and then I have to cut it for her because she either can't or won't groom herself on her back and her hair gets all matted and yucky. So I give her hair cuts. Every now and again she needs the hair on her back legs trimmed also because she has poo hanging from it. Other than a nice cuddly place to sleep and good food and clean water she only needs help with her hair so far. She's still healthy and loves nothing better then to be petted and loved on.
She still plays when she wants to. I haven't noticed her being in any pain while moving around.

Sis. Janet Jackson reveals shocking news on Oprah !!
by ShirleyW inwhen oprah asked if the kids were being raised jw and she knew that jdubs don't celebrate b'days and holidays, janet gave the shocking news that (i'd advise all with heart and medical conditions to take a seat now) she said that yes the children do (as ins always) celebrate there b'day and holidays.
the horror, i'm so totally shocked and stunned!!
you mean a poor family from gary, indiana hit the big time, and although the mother was a jw and the dad was not, and the kids were signed to million dollar contracts while in their teens .

Michael Jackson never was baptized as a JW. Back in the 80's he was an unbaptized publisher. He got kick out back when that ment that you had to shun people even if they had never been baptized. They later changed that policy because of the high prophile incident with MJ.
He got the boot because of Thriller. I was in the 5th grade I think when that happened. I loved him back then.
I wonder how famous JW's get away with that crap?? I was never allowed to have a birthday party or celibrate holidays.

Welcome!! Glad your here. I hope the healing starts soon for you!! I really have no advice to give. I was one of those who was born in but hated it and didn't beileve, but got baptized becuase I was to old not to be and, people asked me when I was getting baptized a lot. When I left I had a few hard months but it went away because I had a really good friend who helped me start to learn to be normal. I hope you find the same thing here.

I found out I'm Type 2 diabetic a couple of years ago. I went to the American Diabetes Associations website. There they have a forum with other diabetics. They give great advice. I also bought every book I could find on the subject.
I recommend
The First Year: Type 2 Diabetes: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed By Gretchen Becker and Allison B. Goldfine
and
Diabetes for Dummies By Alan L. Rubin MD.
The new research is finding a low carb high protein diets to be very helpful in getting your blood sugar under control. Read these books and go to the American Diabetes Associations website to learn more. The most important thing I would recommend is to think about what you eat before you eat it. Also exercise is really important. Even just a half an hour of walking per day will help control your blood sugar.
I got my blood sugar under control and back into the normal range in less that 3 months using the advice in both the books and the ADA's website. I also listened to my doctor.

Why would a woman want to look like that?
by TD ini was leafing through a diet and exercisie magazine my wife subscribes to and noticed (not for the first time) that the female fitness models don't look like women at all.
--they look like anorexic teenaged boys with long hair.. skinny to the point of emaciation is not fit.
i would be willing to bet that not one of these models could even run a 10k.

I would not care one bit. Not that I don't like this site or anything. I've been around to see at least 4 or 5 EX JW boards go by by. I've lost many posts and many friends because the board just goes poof in the night. I have a few other private sites I go to, but for the most part I don't go to EX JE sites. The ones I go to are more social than anything. I don't care to debate the JW's or JW issues with anyone. If I want to vent I go to the private sites I'm a member of and vent, then I move on. I don't care to share all of my issues here. There would be a small hole because when the other EX JE sites I go to are slow, this one fills my boredom very well.
I'm here for the social stimulation I get, more than anything else. I have many friends over 3 or 4 boards I can vent to and I don't have to watch my mouth to do it either.
Being out 12 years has it's advantages. Plus the fact that when I left, I thought it was all a load of BS anyway, helped me to get over it before I ever found the EX JW boards. I have issues that come up from time to time but nothing all that bad.

How Do You Feel When You See Pics of the Gov Body?
by Broken Promises in(this thread was inspired by titus 2006 photo of the gb thread).

I feel nothing. I don't know them, and I didn't know who they were when I was in, so who cares. I don't that's for sure. I didn't really thing of them as anyone special when I was a JW so why would I after 12 years out??
I did attend a memorial once when a governing body member gave the talk. I had no clue who he was and didn't listen anymore then I would have otherwise. They were just men to me. Cranky old bastards, but still men. I didn't feel special because I heard one of them speak. I still could not wait to get out of there. Boy did he drone on and on while giving his talk too. He was as much fun, as watching paint dry.
