I'm glad everyone had a great time. I've had a blast at every meetup and apastafest I've been to. Maybe next time I will be able to come to PA.

Our first apostafest was a great success
by TotallyADD inmrs. reopened mind and i still have big smiles on our face over the fun time we had with our new found friends.

We recognize when posters are drinking....but I have a delicate query...
by Glander init is pretty obvious when some posters get most....animated?
it is always later in the day, cocktail hour, especially weekends.
but my question is this:.

Are you asking if women get bitchy during that time of the month and post more harshly? Why is it that men think because a woman is strong in her thinking and expresses herself well she must be having PMS? PMS is the answer, because a woman has no right to express herself unless she is bleeding and having PMS. Men really are stupid.

Snakes = Married
by SnakesInTheTower init has been over a month and a half since i have even been on the board, and that really only to ask about gps units (got a tom-tom) and mention the new job.
way too busy with life - post jw now 4 years.. of course, the new job has benefits, health insurance, etc.
(including unlimited use of the company car for personal use and the company pays for the unlimited gas for about a $25/week out of my check -- huge benefit) and this has enabled toni and i to finally after a two year engagement, to get married.

Dislexics of JWN Unite!
by highdose ini'm sure i can't be the only one here whose happily deslecic?
after all this talk of puncuation and spelling i feel we of the delesac glory should stand together.. against a world of sneering nerdy anorak types.
in short the types that end up being accountants and maths/ english teachers.

I am dyslexic. I have a hard time with spelling and math. Durring this past Spring semester at school I was taking Algebra and we started working on 2 variable problems and that really messed with my head. I had a hard enough time trying to learn how to solve an equasion for X, let alone X and Z. I eventually got a B in the class and I feel good about my ability to do math now. Spelling on the other hand will always be my downfall.

Started college this week, and I am a happy but busy camper.
by JonathanH intoday was my third day of school, first two days was just meeting teachers, going over class schedules and syllabus, and telling us how to do and find our homework.
now the real fun begins.
i already have alot of homework, and i'm scheduling time into my busy schedule to get it done, it's not too bad....yet.

I was in exactly the same place you are in now just a year ago. I was a decade older than you though. I took a Math class and a computer class and an English class a business class and a Business English class. My first semester was a mind opening experiance for more than one reason. I found out how competitive with myself I am. I also learned how to write and essay, which I had never really seen before because I was taken out of school at such a young age. My Math course was just pre-Algebra but I learned so much!! I ended up with a 3.57 GPA for the semester and made the Dean's List.
My second semester I really felt at home on campus and I really started to meet people and make friends. I earned a 3.53 GPA and made the Dean's List. I also qulified to join Phi Theta Kappa, the international Honors society.
I also took the summer semester because I'm the type who like to keep busy. I got a 3.77 GPA for the summer, but I only took 9 credits.
My Fall semester starts in 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to it.
I wish you good luck and remember that you sometimes need to just take a break.

My Wife wants to allow a Sister from her congregation to provide before and after care for my oldest daughter...
by garyneal inwhen my littlest one was born we knew finding affordable daycare would be tough.
a sister in her congregation was suggested over and over and we finally checked her out and allowed her to keep the baby.
my oldest has had a fairly normal life (thanks largely to me and my wife before she became a witness) and because of that she is quick to speak of birthdays, holidays, etc.. i want her to continue to have a fairly normal life as i know how hard it would be for her to be 'singled out' because her friends decide to do these things.. she's about to start kindergarten and my wife wants to try some sister from her congregation who is looking to make some extra money providing before and after care.

If the preposed sitter is not a legal daycare I would not put your child in it. Why would you want to split your two kids up anyway? If your youngest is already in one and you trust this person and she seems to be running things in a legeal way ask her if she has a spot for your other daughter. Where has she been going up to this point? You said you and your wife work so who takes care of her now?

The Convention Pretty Much Sucked
by Franklin Massey ini feel better now.. but just in case you are wondering why i think it sucked, here you go:.
- it was clearly an "insider's only" convention.
why invite the public if you are just going to engage in crazy talk that only jws can decipher?.
-
noni1974
I haven't been to a convention in 14 years.
