Kids on Leashes at Conventions.
by Diest indid you ever see those parents with kids on leashes at conventions?
i always disliked it and thought it was wierd/lazy...granted i have never been a parent so maybe i dont know.
video reminded me how silly/messed up those leashes are.. .

My mom used one on me when I was little. I was the type of child who never met a stranger and I would go with anyone. My mom was affraid of losing me. I have a picture of me at the old Cleveland Stadium with the leash harness on and being held by someone I don't know. I'm sure my mom knows her because my family was in the background of the picture. I don't have any kids so I have never used one.

LIFE AFTER FEAR
by Dansk inwhen i was a jw i prayed regularly and often and i thanked jehovah in prayer again when events turned out favourably.
however, sometimes things worked out unfavourably for me or a member of my family but we never blamed jehovah.
having now been out of watchtower clutches for over seven months i began to realise that jehovah couldnt lose!

Did you used to be an assembly food rapist?
by yourmomma ini confess proudly that i was one of the biggest assembly food rapists when it switched to the donation arrangement.
in fact, i would roll up to the counter with a fake list and pretend i was getting food for a huge family, lol.
"uh, yes, hello sister, what a fine morning program that was, may i please have 6 roast beef sandwhiches, 6 chocolate puddings, 6 apple danishes, 6 sodas....etc" and i would eat throughout the entire fking program, as it was so boring there was nothing else to do.

There On Memorial Night When One of the Governing Body Was Attending?

Yes, one of them came to Cleveland to give the memorial talk and the local elders rented out a local civil auditorium and had several congergations at the same time. I wish I could remember his name but I never knew the GB's names when I was in so not remembering them now isn't a big deal.

1984 has totally rocked my world!
by serenitynow! inso i read 1984, or at least part of it at the urging of my logic professor, years ago back when i was an inactive jw.
it was a good scary read; i was like, wow, life sucks for that dude!
i did not see any correlations to my jw world at that time.

I loved 1984 when I read it. A poster on another board recomended it to me. I felt a connection to Winston.
I think the thing that struck me the most was thought crime and the amount of control the government holds over the people. It was very WTS like to me.

My House Is Broken!
by NewChapter ini went into the basement last night----and there was a huge crack in the wall.
today, i checked it out further, and there is a one and a half inch gap that goes all the way outside----and there are more cracks---all the way through.
so my house if broken.
