Of course it matters how god hot here. When trying to prove a god exists creationists ask, how could the univerve be here without a creator?

My life has been going well lately. Even though I allowed JW's to cheat me out of a college education, I'm doing it now in my old age (51). I have a pension and a job that allows me to go to school full time. I was telling someone that because of all this I sometimes think maybe there is a god. Later, I thought how arrogant of me to think that god, if there were one, would worry about my education when he can't be bothered to feed starving children.

Simon, that's a good question. One religion can't help but ignore.

i've known so many who have decided to abandon ship at either the age of 30 or either after 30 years of being baptized.
i fall into the former category.
Hmm, I was 42 when I left, but I had been baptized for 30 years.

Teejay, I admire what you're doing. As far as school is concerned I have it a lot easier since there's no little one in my life. But of course a little one provides a lot of satisfaction and joy too. I work at the university that I attend, so that makes it easier, and my partner lets me get away with doing very little around the house. I encourage you to continue to take however many classes you can, since you enjoy learning. Going to college obviously isn't for everyone, but for those of us who enjoy it, it's sure worth the effort.

Congratulations!!! I didn't go to college after high school only becasue of that evil organization, and I've been so angry about it these last 30 years that I decided to do something about it. I'm taking 12 credits during the summer semester so on Aug 3, I'll have 60 of the 120 credits I need for a degree in Spanish. I've found it surprisingly easy to take 12 credits and work full time. I wish I would have started a long time ago. Like as soon as I left the borg. Anyway it's done a lot for my confidence. I used to be afraid to write and now I love it. I got A's in both English Composition 101 and 102. Before I didn't think I be able to get a C. I plan to work on a masters degree after I finish my BA. Keep up the good work. You'll never regret it!

Flip, thanks for your concern. She did shunned me at first, then changed her mind. Now she's gone back to shunning. That's why I thought maybe the borg was applying fresh pressure. Yes, it's very painful not to be able to have a normal relationship with your daughter. I sent her an e-mail encouraging her to break away from their mind control, but of course, I haven't heard from her. There's always hope.

What you said about assembly parts about shunning family members interests me. A few weeks ago I was going to be in Seattle and I had plans with my JW daughter to spend a few hours together. A few days before I left on my trip she left a message on our answering machine saying she couldn't see me. Has there been one of these assembly parts recently?
