have a bible question.
been reading the arguments for the "faithful & wise servant" of mt.
25:45-51 being an individual versus a "class" or group of christians.
i joined this wonderful site, only a few weeks ago, although i have been away from the borg, for almost 20 years.
i didnt introduce myself, on a personal level, but i jumped right in, commenting, making threads, and just immersing myself in this community.
what a time, indeed, to be here, its almost as if i was "called" here, because the week i lurked, and joined, was when all this recent stuff came out.
Wow! I believe that my own encounter with a judicial committee was what eventually led me to wake up. While I did come back and it took almost a decade for me to fully wake up, my experience with the elders in that committee really distressed me and had me wondering where the love was. I had too much family and was fully drinking the kool-aid when it happened, but that started a crack in my faith. I ignored it for a long time until the crack had widened to the point that I could no longer ignore it.
I think more elders would leave, especially after being involved with a JC, if they could get their head around the idea that an organization is needed to serve God. Some would definitely stay as it serves their narcissism, but I think a large number are upset by the JC process and go along with it because it's coming from the Mother Org.
when i was working in a shipping company, captain invited me to his house for his wedding anniversary.
there i was attracted to his father (aged around 80) who seemed to be very healthy.
with me he became very comfortable, and talkative.

advance directives are complex legal instruments and widely misunderstood by both physicians and their patients.
with most jehovah's witnesses their is a significant level of misinformation, and in many cases coercion or undue influence exerted on the patient.
physicians need to be aware of this and always meet privately with the patient to educate them and then ascertain their true wishes.
John Aquila - I know here in the U.S. when JW kids need a transfusion, the government just takes over. And the parents give a sigh of relieve. So the kid here are covered.
As far as I know, that depends on the state. Some states still recognize the right of the parents to choose. While that can be overridden by a court order, they have to obtain that first in some states before they can take action. In my state, the doctors have a standing order to do what's necessary and they have the backing of the court so they don't have to wait for a court order.
The issue with talking to the patient privately is that even if the JW patient wants blood he still has to worry whether or not someone might see the bag of blood hanging there. It's not like it can be hidden. So even if the doctor talks to the patient privately, the JW patient is still under coercion.
ok, i didnt think anything about it.
but last night some friends from across the city called me up and said that the co was visiting their hall and in his talk he said that the society is getting geared up for a massive kingdom hall and assembly hall construction project worldwide next year.
they told the publishers; "get ready".
I don't think the stoppage is permanent, especially the KH and AH building. They may consolidate branches, but I fully see them continuing the KH and AH building next year. KHs and AHs are one measure that the R&F see as growth. Branches only supply the material and don't necessarily indicate growth, especially if the same information can be supplied with a consolidated setup. If they stopped building KHs and AHs, then the R&F would know that something was amiss.
There's also the speculation that they are planning on reselling KHs as a revenue stream. Can't do that if they don't build them. I don't think that's their intention. They don't seem smart enough to pull off a scam like that. Too many leaks anyway to keep it quiet. I think they are deluded into thinking that they are God's channel and need the KHs to continue the growth. Remember they said that there is big increase in attendance when a new KH is built. So that would also help increase their revenue.

Splash To me it's unclear and in contradiction to their very precise and clear later statement from
Isn't that the WT M.O. - unclear and contradictory? They have to leave themselves wiggle room.

Being a helper doesn't mean that they weren't anointed at that time.
Per the April 15, 1992 WT:
Therefore it has been decided to invite several helpers, mainly from among the great crowd, to share in the meetings of each of the Governing Body committees, that is, the Personnel, Publishing, Service, Teaching, and Writing Committees.'
So you could be of the anointed and still be added as a helper. Whether or not any of the current GB considered themselves to be anointed while they were a helper, I don't know.
