Watchtower Content Producers Tardy With their Monthly Broadcast. WHY?
by scotoma inhow hard is it to produce a monthly program and get it up on time?
they are late every month.. are these the same people that published 128 pages of magazines by the 1st,8th,15th and 22nd of every month for over 100 years?
are they understaffed?

They publish it by end of day on the first Monday of the month. To my knowledge they haven't missed that deadline yet. -

$1.2 billion is a drop in the bucket for all the printing and publishing that they do. If they're smart, they'll invest that $1.2 billion in to more real estate and not use it for their day-to-day operations. Some of that could already be spent if they have taken out construction loans for their current building in Warwick and other places. -

ARC: WT cf VAG
by Joe Grundy in(i never was a jw).. as a retired child abuse professional, i followed (and continue to do so - it's an ongoing process) the arc proceedngs closely.
my understanding is that the purpose of the arc is to establish what current practices exist in various organisations and institutions, how those practices compare with accepted best practice, and what organisations and institutions need to do to bring their procedures and policies into line with best practice.
(and to find a way to compensate victims for what's been done wrong).. wt is case study #29 in the arc process.

The sad thing is that the JWs that I have spoken to are eating up what the WT is saying. They think that all of the cases of child abuse are because of individuals and not because of the organization's policies. They swallow the phrase "it's all apostate lies". The rest of the world may be wise to JW policies and how they are responding, but JWs, by and large, are not. -

All the ways that the org now dips into JWs pockets is very similar to how governments tax people. Take a little bit from a thousand different places and people don't notice or complain as much as they would if it was one big tax. JWs are putting money out to the local congregation, circuit assembly, regional assembly, directly to the worldwide work, directly to the org for disasters, and willed directly to the org. In the past, the local and circuit would have been used only for local needs (put back into use for the local members), but now the org has its hands in those funds as well. The pubs don't even realize how much of their contributions are now sent back to "mother". -

Wow. This is going to raise a few eyebrows!
Doubt it. They are already being instructed to send excess money from congregation accounts. This is the same thing, but on a circuit level. 99% of elders will just accept it (if they even listen at the business meeting) and move on. When the announcement is read at the assembly, most pubs won't put 2 and 2 together either. The pubs also won't realize that this was direction from the org and will think that the elders did this themselves.

Don't let the circuit save the money for the next assembly! Drain the account so that they can be guilted during the lunch break to donate more! -

Which Spiritual belief system or non belief system is right for you?
by Giordano inwe have done this before but we have a fair number of newbie's on this site and some are struggling with the question about other belief systems and non belief.
where are you now in your own mind?
here's a quiz http://www.selectsmart.com/nontheism/ that is pretty accurate, at least in my case as to where i am at this point in my life.

Two Year Delay in Building New KHs - What Is the Real Impact?
by committeechairman inwhere are all these kingdom halls that were going to start being built?
the rbc arrangement was officially announced as an arrangement that was ending in the united states branch territory in a letter on january 24, 2014 (although this letter is no longer listed on jw.org).
this means that 23 months have passed since the announcement of the ldc taking over and "acceleration" of kingdom hall builds.. what has happened in the meantime with kh construction?

I keep hearing that they are gearing up for a large push on KHs. They've started a few in the US in densely populated areas. It would make sense that they start a few to get the rhythm and work the kinks out. Once they've got a template, they can start replicating that across the US. It's taking them a long time, but it is a big change. They're going from a hybrid residential model to a commercial model.
Unless they want mass defections, I think they have to kick the KH building in the US into high gear within the next year. The sales from the recent buildings they listed should give them the cash needed to start a large number of KHs.

Watchtower's response to Royal Commission shows they have learned nothing and will do nothing
by wannaexit ini've quickly read through watchtower's submission to the royal commission.
seems like they aren't planning to change policy anytime soon.
they are critical of how the royal commission handled the situation.. the tone is of the submission is shear arrogance.

I've actually been told by a JW that Jehovah is allowing these things to occur the same way he allowed Saul to continue despite him no longer being anointed. Jehovah is "allowing" JW's loyalty to be tested. -

Even if they changed it to say that elders should inform the parents and/or victim of their right to report the abuse, that would have a HUGE impact. This would change many JWs attitude toward reporting the crime and of those who choose to report the crime.
Marvin Shilmer-
What you suggest is already Watchtower policy.
It's not. They only say that the elders are not to discourage them from going to the police. There is no mandate for the elders to even inform the parents or abused of their right to go to the police.
