Why is the Governing Body pushing the very young(5-12 year old) into getting baptized into subservience to the Corporation?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think a very simple reason may be because the very young are pretty much the only ones naive enough to take the plunge these days.
with the internet available to inform people about the deceptive lies printed by the wt corporation it seems that they are getting their member from the less informed population like the elderly and the very young.
they/gb hate higher education because they loose members who get one and so they are focusing on those that are dumb enough to believe their boogie man bull shit about jehovah choosing their corporation and anybody not a part of it he will destroyed at armageddon.. also we need to consider that they view these young people as a potential free labor source so the sooner you get them hooked into baptism with the threat of disfellowshipping you can get more free labor out of them..

I was saddened recently when we had my wife's niece stay with us for 3 weeks. She was recently baptized and was pioneering that month. She told me that she hated preaching but needed to keep doing it until she liked it. Every time I would do or say something that was not quite JW, she would say, "Jesus is disappointed in you." I know she was joking but I could see the cult persona kick in.
She's home schooled so she has no connection to anyone who is not a JW. Of course, JW literature is heavily used in her schooling. I'm hoping that I can stay in long enough to help her get out. She's a very smart girl and doesn't deserve to be stunted by this religion. It'll help if my wife wakes up and joins me in this quest.
She usually spends several weeks a year with us, so I/we may be able to get her to think outside of JW teachings.

It seems most people are very active on these sites shortly after waking up, but eventually move on. I'm sure I will move on too at some point. For now at least I feel a sense of comradery here that I don't get at the meetings anymore. -

I'm using vidtomp3. So far it is converting each one just fine. Just make sure to uncheck the box that says something about using a download accelerator when you get to the download page. I only had to uncheck it on the first conversion. I'm up to chapter 6 and it has converted each one without an issue so far.

Need to Vent: Well this weekend is a wash, 3 days of my life i will not get back and wife is slipping in to cult mode

Probably too late now, but have you seen the info on how to setup a PirateBox? I plan on doing this at my convention to see how many may connect to me and download apostate literature. Otherwise, you can play convention bingo.
I've found that asking questions in a sincere manner has helped my wife to think about the doctrines. I never attack them, but pose questions that I sincerely have. I do this a little at a time. Usually I pose them as coming from my brother (who isn't a JW). I'd use a coworker, but I work from home so I have little contact with them.

The correlation to spiritism blows me away. I was not taught this growing up, but discovered it later. I was taught, like most other JWs, that smoking was banned because we should be physically clean.
I like how some very addictive rx drugs are ok because a doctor signed off on it. Or how the drug alcohol is ok, because Jesus drank it. If only there was an account of him smoking weed.

youtube-mp3.org has a limitation of converting videos that are 20 min or less. It won't convert most of the videos becaus of their length.
