It seems obvious to anyone who will look at all of the data that their changes are to lower costs and could be because of lack of funds. The problem is that JWs don't look at all of the data. In the US, almost none of them are aware of the Australian Royal Commission or even the Conti or Lopez cases. Other than the elders or some of the MS's, most are unaware of the money grab from the KHs and are unaware that donations are down. They swallow the spin from the org that reductions/changes are to focus on the preaching work because the end is so near.

Is Watchtower beginning to buckle
by Truthexplorer inis wt beginning to buckle under the weight of everything that is happening?
heavy criticism from the media and the plethora of websites and youtube videos popping up; and now the obvious issues with finances clearly evident.
the pressure for change must be immense and therefore necessary!

The question should be "Is shunning of disfellowshipped/disassociated persons a loving arrangement?" -

TV.JW.ORG - October 2015: Neighborly love is more than just Field Service
by Designer Stubble inthe october 2015 jw broadcast, hosted by gerrit losch is quite positive actually.a lot of focus on "field service" needs to be balanced with other good works - supporting those in need around you - either in the congregation (witnesses) or in your classroom or neighbors (non-witnesses).
visiting and encouraging the sick and elderly is mentioned.
jesus parable of the merciful samaritan is highlighted.

Maybe that's why they stopped the KH construction. They're planning on modifying the design to add a soup kitchen!

Has anyone thought of the spin that the "society" will put on bethel layoffs?
by Lied2NoMore infirst, how about a joke?.
what do you call someone who just turned apostate?.
im thinking sometime in the future the society will put a spin on what is happening similar to what has been done in the past.. they will say apostasy once again reared its ugly head in the organization and layoffs was the only way to "cleanse" the organization.. once disgruntled ones begin to use their voice, they will be forced to strike back with some spin to make all those who have the guts to complain look like they were the problem.. good theory huh?.

They are already putting a spin on it. Heard directly from a family member who heard the announcement that bethel is saying that they are "reassigning" the bethelites to the field because the end is near and more "workers" are needed in the the field. They don't need to spin it anymore than that. The R&F eat up any and all Alarmageddon announcements. -

Will Gilead Go Away?
by freemindfade injust a total speculative thought i had.
with branches getting cut, special pioneers getting sacked, and bethel members going byebye, is there a need for gilead still?
(co's are probably on the block too lests be honest).. if they got rid of that i feel that would be huge.

Top Dog Volunteer
by pontoon infrom the first bethel layoffs some time ago i began to wonder how does one volunteer layoff, fire another volunteer?
they're suppose to be the same, equal volunteers.
the volunteer that does the firing----where did his authority come from?

Using the internet can destroy your Faith.
by James Mixon inthat's the conclusion of a study showing that the dramatic drop in religious affiliation.
in the u.s since 1990 is closely mirrored by the increase in internet use.

No longer do "apostates" have to look like raving lunatics picketing outside conventions in order to garner attention from JWs and the media. -

The new changes is a clear indication that we are one step closer to the end...
by RobertT18 inthat was today's topic over a group chat of my cong's young jbots.
apparently the rumors are circulating everywhere i go, even people from the spanish congs are talking about it.
what's really sad is that the majority of people are already seeing this as "clear" signs of the end coming.

Yep CD is a bitch.
It's also an annual thing now for the GB to drum up some reason for the R&F to think the end is near. I wonder how many years in a row they can repeat the same excitement before the R&F start to wake-up en masse. I know they've been drumming the end is near drum for 100+ years, but it seems like there is a yearly cycle now around October with pepperings of Alarmageddon in between.

I just discovered Islay Scotch about a month ago and bought my first bottle of Laphroaig a couple of weeks ago. That smokey pete moss flavor is really awesome! -

I think it will take some time for all of these changes to sink in. Many of those that I know are excited about the layoffs and think it is a sign that the GT is near. They don't yet know about the changes after the annual meeting, but since the 3 TMS talks are being replaced by 4 talks (1 bible reading followed by 3 student presentations) I think that they will take this change as further evidence of the push toward preaching and teaching because the end is near.
Some will eventually re-examine these changes and come to the realization of TTATT, but it won't be immediate for many.
