Wilmington Delaware Media report in another Topic
by truthlover insexual abuse by a female member of a 14 year old in the congregation and elders being sued by the county --- now that co's are liable for the elders only - does that mean the elders will lose everything if fines are levelled against them, since the society has washed their hands and separated themselves by setting the co in place??

Not only is there a direct link from branch to CO to elders, but there is also a direct link through the "elder's manual" and letters to the BoE that lists the policies that the elders are to follow. Several of those policies state that they are to call the branch for direction. The only way the WT corp can distance themselves from the actions of an elder is if the elder does not follow the policies that they put forward. -

At our hall anyone who asks is given the password. Most kingdom halls have wifi now. They have to download videos monthly to play during the meeting. Some are announcements and some are special instructions. Starting the first of the year, they will have to play the recommended presentations for the whole congregation. -

Changes to reporting
by Formerbrother inso it seems placing literature is not so important anymore, now that we live in a digital age.. we are being pushed to show videos instead.
this is the new reporting from next month, just hrs and any literature placed in one box and then how many videos you showed in another box.. bib changes for sure..

There was a thread where the branch in another country sent a letters to the elders that if they did not follow policies to the letter, including contacting the branch for further direction, that they would not be supported by WT lawyers. There is definitely personal responsibility, but that doesn't absolve the org if the elders' actions can be linked to org polices (written or otherwise). -

CA's/ Special Day Assemblies are going to be the next big thing to be chopped completely
I doubt it. They make a ton of money at the CA's. With the most recent letter about donating excess circuit funds, they will make even more. The "cost" is just an amount based on a per publisher rate that the branch decides. They can up that cost and when there is a "deficit" reported at the lunch break the guilted JWs will drop more coin or swipe their card again.

is it safe to say they will most likely sell off the most profitable ones first?
Of course! They don't care how far the dubs have to travel.

No. They will be just as responsible since it's a hierarchical organization. If the elders point back to a policy by the org, the org is responsible. -

They publish it by end of day on the first Monday of the month. To my knowledge they haven't missed that deadline yet. -

$1.2 billion is a drop in the bucket for all the printing and publishing that they do. If they're smart, they'll invest that $1.2 billion in to more real estate and not use it for their day-to-day operations. Some of that could already be spent if they have taken out construction loans for their current building in Warwick and other places. -

ARC: WT cf VAG
by Joe Grundy in(i never was a jw).. as a retired child abuse professional, i followed (and continue to do so - it's an ongoing process) the arc proceedngs closely.
my understanding is that the purpose of the arc is to establish what current practices exist in various organisations and institutions, how those practices compare with accepted best practice, and what organisations and institutions need to do to bring their procedures and policies into line with best practice.
(and to find a way to compensate victims for what's been done wrong).. wt is case study #29 in the arc process.

The sad thing is that the JWs that I have spoken to are eating up what the WT is saying. They think that all of the cases of child abuse are because of individuals and not because of the organization's policies. They swallow the phrase "it's all apostate lies". The rest of the world may be wise to JW policies and how they are responding, but JWs, by and large, are not.
