...plans a "special day" once a year for each of their children, but only other jw children get to come to the party.. ...is probably second or third generation, born in to it.. ...believes that "conscience matter" means that the proper course is flexible.. ...never worries about being disfellowshipped as enough relatives are elders anyways.. more?.

- Is almost always late for the meetings and usually ends up leaving right before the prayer
- Takes vacations once a year and drives a (GASP!) 2 door Honda Civic
- Is liked by the 'younger people' in the hall who think they're "cool"
- Still leaves the assembly building for lunch during the noon break
-And parks where they please despite the parking attendants direction
- Has stacks of WT/Awake articles in full supply on their coffee table
- still "goes home for christmas"
- Has taught their kids about the Birds and the Bees without the aid of a WT article

oh! i get it now. I just finished up "preparing" my WT and about to leave now. Thanx again. I am able to little by little now really understand misconstrued bible teachings. And in turn hopefully one day come to my own conclusions as to my spirituality

i thought Bryan's book was not available yet??? I suppose I will check the library.But on another note: I simply could not ready The Truth Book. She does jump around a lot and I did not feel she was making a whole lot of sense. Someone who is unknown to the JW world would of been completely confused.

16 yes, no matter what dark valley we may find ourselves in, we do not have to walk through it alone.

Wifely Submission?!

This is the story of my life! Even now subconsciously I look for men who can be a bit controlling. I always feel like if a man is not taking charge in some way-telling me I should not be going out tonight, reminding me not to raise my voice at him, letting me know that my top is too low that he isn't doing his job as a man!
I've talked to my psych teacher about this and he says women who have grown up in strict religious households tend to think this way. I've had to deal with abusive relationships and finally now I am learning what is acceptable and not acceptable. But then sometimes I am accused of being too "stubborn"????
So which is it? How do you seperate being overly-rigid and stubborn towards a man and but still being able to keep him from controlling you?
