Since it is pretty clear what all of you do not believe I am wondering what you do beleive?
2) Why are we here, where are we going?
3) Why do we grow old and die?
4) Will suffering ever end?
5) Would you go to war against fellow beleivers?
6) What does Jesus' sacrafice mean to you? -

My mom's being told to shun me.
by GetBusyLiving inthose goofy bastards are up to their old tricks again.
some background: i disassociated a year ago and explained why i was leaving to my mom, who agreed with me and told me that she's been thinking of leaving the dubs for nearly ten years.
she's been inactive for the past year and happier than ever.

I have not diassosiated myself. I am Dedicated to Jehovah God and count myself as one of Jehovah's witnesses.
I will do my own research in response to the 607 vs 587 question but I actually find the replies from bethel quite convincing on the 607vs587 website.
But here is a question for all you forum goers while I do my own research:
Since it is pretty clear what all of you do not believe I am wondering what you do beleive?
1) Who is the creator of the universe?

3) Why do we grow old and die?
4) Will suffering ever end?
5) Would you go to war against fellow beleivers?
6) What does Jesus' sacrafice mean to you?
These are just a few questions off the top of my head that I am extremely interested in hearing a response to. Thanks for your time. -

Quote:
"Obviously you believe the governing body of JW's to be God's channel. Did you know that Jerusalem was not overthrown by the Babylonians in 607 B.C but rather 587 B.C? Do you understand what this means to the Jehovah's Witness doctrine of the last days begining in 1914 and the Bible students being supposedly chosen in 1919? It means that this has never happened. If you insist on holding to the truth that Jesus was never appointed to rule in 1914 you will be disfellowshiped from the Jehovah's Witness's as an apostate, and shunned by friends and family. Does that bother you at all?"
-----------
Could you please provide me historical references to the 587 BCE date. I am just curious because Jerusalem was overthrown by Babylon around 620 BCE although the temple was not destroyed until 607 bce. -

When did the baptismal questions ever say we were dedicated to anyone but Jehovah God?

I agree death is a terrible thing.
However of these deaths that could of been prevented, how many extra days of life could a blood transfusion add? Or blood products? My favorite is reading about innocent people being tied down and forced to take blood transfusions only to die a few days or weeks later.
Blood is an issue that is huge in the eyes of many, but only one set of eyes really does matter. If we try to hold on to a life that is decaying in a system that is falling apart at the seams - what do we gain and what do we give up if we violate God's laws? -

Nothing like giving up your birthrite for a pot of stew.
"I agree... it's amazing how many JWs are willing to destroy a family for the sake of a book publishing company."
Hmm.. Interesting perspective and I thought I was dedicated to God, not a book publishing company. Maybe thats where you ones that have left the truth missed the point. -

Well I realize this discussion forum is made up of people happy to trample Jehovah's Witnesses I am just curious as to why he did what he did. I have read a few posts and most of them are about people leaving for self indulgent reasons. By saying sorry I was merely stating that I am sorry he left because I beleive it is the truth.

EX JWs - What planted the seed in your mind?
by jstalin ini'm interested in finding out what planted the seed in your mind that got you started on questioning the watchtower.
what issue, event, or idea started you on the path to rejecting the watchtower?
and while we're at it, what event was the straw that broke the camel's back, that pushed you over the edge to finally quitting the organization?
-
Ragnar1211
I wonder if anyone that ever left the organization was looking for the truth when they left or just an easier life... Sounds like all of you are looking for a life of ease, sounds like easy prey for Satan. If you were looking for truth when you left - what did you find that was so inspiring?

Nothing like giving up your birthrite for a pot of stew. Sorry to hear that you dissassociated yourself, mind explaining why?
