What bothered me was the idea that "jehovah knows what you need and provides accordingly" nonsense.
Also the idea of what will work for one will work for all.
when i used to read the prophecies of revelation and see the society's interpetation i often thought to myself, "how could this be"?
i shelved a lot of things, hoping that maybe i'd understand over time or the "light would get brighter".. as an elder, i used to wonder how they (the society) could tell the elders one thing and put into print another thing.
while the rank and file were being told at the watchtower studies how the elders were to not judge unfairly at judicial committees, the elders were told to be safe rather than sorry when it came to "removing the wicked man from our midst".

why a paradise earth is so appealing to jws?.
well no one can say they look around at the problems today and can say they like everything they see.
so a nice clean paradise world would be pretty great.
I think it is all somewhat of an excuse for having zero ambition now.
i can't stop cooking!
i have made - cookies, brownies, chocolate cake(famous for) and dutch apple pie.
then i made, a few different home baked breads.. now, i am making dinner.. baked chicken(zesty), garlic mashed potatoes, sweet corn(grilled) and corn muffins.

The race is on!

What's sad is there is some "brother" out there hoping that she will be such a lovely wholesome christian wife for him.
"Looks great. Just moved in. Out in service, so she loves jehovah. SHE DID WHAT?!?!? AND BY WHO?!?!?"
although it is sometimes hard to put so many elements of a novel into a 2 hour screenplay and motion picture and you end up reading the book and then watching the movie and wish they would have included stuff they left out.
however there are sometimes when you might watch the movie and end up more impressed with the movie and grown more attached to the movie than the book.
can you think of any movies you thought were better than the book it was based on?
I got half way through the second LOTR book before I just couldn't take it anymore.
The big one for me is Ghostworld. I love the comic-book/graphic novel (I even have my hardcover signed by Dan Clowes), but it wasn't written with the idea of making a movie out of it. Clowes did have a lot of input into the changes and it's one of my favorite movies.
