What Do You Do for Work?
by Good Girl or Bad Girl? inso, i have a good job, but i hate my boss.
it's gotten to the point (beyond the point) that i just need to get outta here.
it's not even worth going to hr about because she makes sure you get fired if you do that, but not before dragging your reputation through the mud.

They are trained to pick up on things...for example, jewelry can give clues...such as whether or not you're married... sometimes women wear bracelets with the birthstones of their children... it can be many things.... I wasn't there, so I can't get too specific...but most people give away more info than they realize. ..The thing about your father is obvious.... who doesn't have an older man somewhere in their life...and she made it even more general by saying he could be dead.... Same words would have worked if your father died 5 or 10 years ago.... you just made it fit your circumstances....filled in the blanks. That would have fit me too... she could have said the same thing to me, and it could fit my life too...

My best friend is into this stuff. I love her to death, but she talks about it all the time...and it gets old pretty fast. She goes to readings a lot, and loves it. They talk in such generalities...and then she looks around to try to make it fit. For example, a recent one told her that there's a couple she is close to that has a fiery relationship that isn't healthy. Ok...so who doesn't know such a couple? She then tries to figure out who it could be... My questions to her were...even if you know who it is, why is it important for you to know this? What are you supposed to do about it....how does it effect your life? So what was the purpose of this reading? She also believes in signs...for example, a tampon fell from a cabinet in the morning...and someone dropped a receipt for tampons later that day. She took that to mean that she'll be gettin her period soon. I said...um that's called gravity... by that reasoning if I can't find my hairbrush...does that mean I'll be losing my hair?! If that's the case, I should be bald by now! There are no accidents according to her...so if a picture falls from the wall...could mean disaster for the person in the picture... Sorry I just don't want to live like that...
She talks about astrology all the time and believes it's a science....There's hardly a conversation that she doesn't try to insert astrology into... reminds me of an new jw who has to witness all the time....
She thinks she's psychic... what I can't figure out is that if she really is, why hasn't she figured out that I her best friend is not interested in this stuff?

we either weren't close to our high school friends, or sort of shut them out of our lives.

I have been friends with my best friend since we were 6 years old. (my mom brought her family into the organization) She left the borg years before I did, but I refused to shun her. She has always been like a sister to me. Her family is out now too, and we're all good friends. My bf is an xjw too...in fact we dated when I was in my teens.... Life is good

Ok...that didn't work... bought a scanner... I have a ton of pictures of bethel personnel from the 30s, 40s & 50s. My uncle was there for decades and was an announcer on WBBR. I'll try to post some when I figure out how to do this... right now I've got to go to work...

Yes, Lily, they travelled a lot...all over the world. The last I heard, they had an import business and were very successful. I haven't seen either of them in many years...
