  a young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.

  as ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.

  this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.

  therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

  I'm about to leave to spend this beautiful day with someone special.
  Time will tell as to whether the numbers are correct. If even one child was molested, it was too many. I personally know of many, so we'll see.
  My advice? Talk to Bill before you draw any conclusions about him.
  Research, research, research.
  The Bible does say "make sure of all things." Too bad most jws don't think that applies to what the wt says. I was fortunate that my Dad, an elder for many years, taught me to question. If he was alive today, he'd be the loudest voice here. It was that background that gave me the strength to leave the borg.

  Many here are at various stages of recovery. Part of the recovery process is expressing anger. Eventually, you move on. For some the pain is fresh.
  Their feelings are normal under the circumstances. Attacking them or discrediting them is just plain ignorant. This is a place to give them a voice, a voice that was silenced while they were part of the borg.

  So Hilda, learn more about the subject before trying to stir up things here. You may be sincere, but you don't come across that way.
  Really. Just being honest.

  Many here have been personally effected by the borg, and it is hard to be objective when you have been brutalized mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and in the case of those molested, physically. Objective? Maybe not, but it doesn't mean their experiences aren't real. Their feelings are valid.
  So, the number 23,000 bothers you? In my opinion, it is probably higher than that. I lived in places all over the country, and I was in many congregations. I think statistically, and judging from the number of cases that have come to light, that the number is valid, perhaps conservative.
  People giving Bill a verbal pat on the back is a good thing. What he is going through is very difficult, and he has lost family members over it. He needs to know that he has support. There is nothing wrong with that. I have talked to Bill on many occasions, and can readily tell you that he is a sincere person, and not out for personal gain.
  Have you talked to him? Do you kmow him? Be careful not to judge him.
  Jesus had plenty to say on that topic.

  Your comment that JWs should verify everything is interesting. JWs don't do that. When they start to verify things, they leave the borg, because it doesn't take long to realize that they have been deceived.

  I never rely on heresay. I personally know of some of the cases.
  Because of this, I don't think the numbers are exagerated at all. I was in the borg for 38 years, I saw a lot. I left it because I could no longer stomach having any part of it.
  Many on this board have been personally effected by the evil.

  You say you can't address the evil in the borg without specific information. There's plenty of specific information in the threads on this board. Dateline will also present specific information. Maybe you need to learn more before expressing an opinion on the matter.
  Instead of maligning members of this board, you need to do some real investigating. I honed my research skills after having been lied to by the borg. I verify everything now.

  By the way, Bill's boat isn't sinking. It's moving right along smoothly.

  Where have you addressed the evil in the borg? Enlighten me as to your view. All I've seen here is your contempt for those who expose it.
  No, Jesus didn't swear, but He used some pretty strong language when He confronted the Pharisees. Didn't mince words at all.
  The victims of the borg have waited for decades (in many cases) for the evil to be exposed and dealt with. The borg ignored them, and so the borg finally faces exposure.
  Regardless of who exposed it, or why, or whatever language they choose to use, the fact remains that the evil exists, and has existed for a very long time. It must be dealt with. I believe Christ agrees.
  Address the real issue.

  There is such a thing as righteous anger. Jesus himself proved that when He threw the money changes out of the Temple.
  I'm a Christian, and can't begin to understand your attitude. Adddress the evil condition that exists within the Borg, instead of criticizing the people who have been hurt by the evil.

  I watch him all the time. My 80 year old aunt (not a dub) thinks he
  is the best thing on tv. She never misses it. If he gets hold of the watchtower, he won't let them squirm out of this one. All the tap dancing in the world won't work with Bill. If they are represented on the show, they'll look like the slime balls they are. If they don't, they'll look even worse.
