Does anyone know if there are any surviving members of the Russell or Rutherford families? I know Russell had no children, but I think he had siblings...and maybe neices & nephews.... Rutherfords son.....anyone know whatever happened to him? If there are any relatives...are they shareholders? if not, what would it take to establish one?
i think people would be very interested in what the watchtower holds as property or as businesses.

This is a great idea! A list of their real estate assets all in one place! The proclaimers book had 50 or more pages of pictures of branch offices. Imagine how much it's all worth...branch offices...kingdom halls...assembly halls....not to mention Brooklyn and Patterson. I seem to remember a property in Hawaii too that was used as a conference center...

i did...to a degree....weekly classes starting at age 8 and continuing through a year of college...but you know the rest... pressure against education etc... although my dad gave me all sorts of support where my education was concerned... but i didn't persue it the way i should have...wanted to... got married at 18...'nuf about that..... within the past year, i have reconnected with a former high school classmate.
we were the class artists...if there was an award to win...or a project to do...we alternated honors.

Getting married at 18... nope I would not recommend that.... Nearly everyone in my congregation got married very early. My best friend was 21...and she was the last one! I was married for almost 20 years...thinking I had no choice but to remain married.
Life is good now. I still do artwork... My work has been published in a calendar two years running now. My job isn't related to art.. but it can be somewhat creative in a different way. Still, someday, I would like to concentrate more on art.

Within the past year, I have reconnected with a former High School classmate. We were the class artists...if there was an award to win...or a project to do...we alternated honors. We were opposite...she was a hippie (or the closest thing I ever knew to a hippie in my sheltered jw world) I was the dutiful dub. We were not friends then.... competition kind of spoiled that... but we had a kind of respect for eachother.
We have become friends now...so many years later. She stuck with her art...and she has done sooooo well. Google her, and hundreds of pages of websites come up. I am sooooo proud of her....and it feels so good to be free to have a friendship that should have existed back then, but didn't. Take a look at her art.... Her name is Sandy Wadlington... her last name was Brown back then... and she is my friend.
and if that's not enough...google her name.... I'm soooo impressed!

there was a family that i knew growing up, when my dad died, and our family was going through some problems, the dad,an elder in the hall, was the only one that went out of his way to take me under his wing and treat me like his daughter.

When my parents were sick (they died within a year of eachother) There were constant trips to the hospital, and one crisis after another. My daughter was an infant at the time...and I am an only child. My parents congregation helped sooooo much. They came and cleaned...took care of my daughter...took shifts sitting with my dad or my mom in the hospital...as I could only be with one at a time. Some of the brothers would come and bathe my father when he was at home...and they took turns taking him for dialysis...staying with him the whole time. It was amazing. My parents were well loved. Sadly, I have never seen anything like this since....That was in the late 70s...

I tend to be very skeptical whenever the "ghost" is seen in or near glass. Sometimes images can be created just by reflections or imperfections in the glass.
For example, a few years ago, a few miles from here people flocked to a building to see the supposed image of the madonna. Turns out it was just a seal failure of the insulating glass. The silver oxide of the low-e coating started to tarnish because of exposure to oxygen and produced a milky coating between the glass. Convective loops contributed by creating a somewhat swirling pattern that produced the supposed image.
The other images that don't involve glass...just look like a double exposure to me....sorry.
