Some people reallly need to read Bart D. Ehrman 's books.
Once you've read them, you'd abandon the idea that the NT testement is inspired. You may as well be examining the Lord Of The Rings books for insight into the future.

Interesting audio article:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p022y8f1
Nothing about the Bible Students of course. JW's says that because they weren't clear on the the issue of neutrality during WW1 they were punished with prison sentences for the Directors.
So it's interesting that God chose them rather them the Quakers or other Christian faiths who took the stand they did and suffered for it...

Could you ask your sister if she can remember what she said?
GrreatTeacher is right - the GC is a good place to start. JWFacts has a good page on that, including a Jason DeBuhn e-mail:
http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/great-crowd-other-sheep.php
If you look up DeBuhn on the WT-CD Rom he is viewed very highly by the WT. So it lends weight to his comments.
As another poster said: James 1:17 is useful:
17 Every good gift and every perfect present is from above, coming down from the Father of the celestial lights, who does not vary or change like the shifting shadows.
Then show her the number of understandings of Generations, or the Faithful and Discrete slave. Why would God do that? If he does not vary or change, why would he teach something false as Truth.
Take her through Proverbs 4, not just 4:18. What evidence is there that connects 4:18 to our time? None! It's just a poetic passage comparing the path of the righteous one with the path of the unrighteous. There is nothing about new light being shed on Bible understanding.
Good luck!

But even when you remove the JW connection, the notion of unilaterally removing your sick child from medical care and whisking them out of the country to go into hiding then starting a media campaign - you run the risk - certainly in the short term - of sparking high level concern about your competence as a fit parent and tellingly about your child's current welfare and wellbeing.
In the video the little boy looked terribly ill and limp. It did not look good - regardless of the parents' beliefs.
But they didn't go out of the out of the country to go into hiding and then starting a media campaign. The hiding and You Tube video (not exactly a media campaign, uploadinf a video) came as a result of being hospital calling in the Police!
I can't say I would have done what those parents did, but I would always do what was right for my child's long term health. That, frankly, is all that matters here.
I hope a full investigation of this event reveals what exactly went wrong.

So very sad and tragic. Desperate parents trying desperate measures for their little boy's life.
Well that was a nice comment to start off with...
His Youtube plea is so heartfelt, and who is to say whether he may not be partially right. The UK medical authorities and the doctors in question will be scrambling embarrassingly over this if it turns out that there is real merit in Proton beam treatment but that the UK hospitals are just behind the times on this and draconian.
So ironic though that he says they did what they did because the hospital was, allegedly, threatening to bar them from the ward. He refers to the fear and stress of being under such a 'cruel' and unquestioning system, that they couldn't stay under it and had to get out to give their son the love he needed in his darkest hour of need. Most JW's cannot see the awful irony in this, in the parallels to the JW's merciless and cruel disfellowshipping and shunning policy of family who question and conscientiously dissent from certain teachings of JW's, that prevents children from being with parents and vice versa, etc.
I can't help but wonder if the distrust and lack of respect re blood transfusions that the Watchtower Society has cultivated in the minds of JW's has somehow rubbed off on these parents attitude in not trusting the UK medical authorities on the best treatment for their son.
I have to strongly disagree. We are in the UK and took to son last year to hospital as his wrist was sore. He was carefully examined by a pediatrician and we were told it was growing pains and we could go home. I could see my wife didn't agree so we requested a second opinion.
Only after the second opinion did we find out that he had an infection in his wrist bone, which required an immediate operation to drain the infection from the bone or else his hand would not have grown any more.
Post op they had trouble finding a vein in his foot for the antibiotic feed. Over and over again I held him screaming as they repeatedly stuck the needle in. Eventually I demanded an alternative. I quoted a famous quote "The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". So they gave us oral antibiotics (takes longer) and guess what, he was home that day and is now fine.
But had we taken that first pediatrician's steer we would now have a child with a withered hand.
During the whole time in hopsital (and with both my childrens births) I was up and down corridors chasing for Doctors and nurses. I love the NHS, it is a marvellous instution, but the staff are incredibly overworked and mistakes do take place. And be under no illusion that money plays a part is what treatments they prescribe.
And why havn't these parents used this as an opportunity to preach about the Bible's resurrection hope? Didn't Paul say in scripture that Christians do not grieve as the rest do because of the resurrection hope? Yet these JW parents are acting more desperately than any worldly parents usually would.
After all, if their boy needed an emergency life-saving blood transfusion to cure his brain tumour, wouldn't they refuse to consent to that in the belief they will see him again soon in the resurrection?
Incredibly insensitive comment at this time.
The WT are heartless bastards, with screwed up beliefs, but let's not stoop to their shitty levels. We don't know what treatments that the family would be prepared to accept. In the UK JW kids will immediately get made a ward of court and get blood, so the Hopsital Liason Commitee's advice is to accept the blood. So this just isn't an issue over here. I know this from a HLC member's converstaion with me during the above stay in hopsital.
But the video clearly shows a family looking for treatment, not wanting for their child to die. So comments about preaching about their resurrection hope is utterley inappropriate.

An important message from a PRACTICING Jehovah's witness
by Sparks inhi, i am also a practicing jehovah's witness and very proud of it,to say the very-very least..!
i am a middle-aged man with many decades of being a witness of jehovah god in england.. this important letter is personally to you, just as many of the bible's 88 letters are to be taken personal by you the reader.
i am writing to you to urge you to take stock of your life, think what your future holds for you.

but what proof have you got that The Jehovah's witnesses are God's people and have the truth?"
Ok - let's go!
1. Almighty God's name is Jehovah, the God of Abraham. Which is a well known fact.
No it is not. Jehovah is a hybrid word. A mixture of the tetrgrammartron and adonai. Yahweh is the closest.
2.Jehovah's witnesses sanctify or "hallow" God's name.Lord's prayer: (Matthew 6:9 ).
Jehovahs Witnesses are not known for sanctifying God's name. They are known for child abuse cases, blood transfusions and calling on doors with magazines highlighting a variety of false dates, 1914 being the longest running one of all.
3.Jehovah's witnesses are hated by all nations on account of God's name:( Matthew 24:9)
The only thing that gets on peoples tits is being woken up on Saturday morning with invites to go to a website. Don't delude yourself with this hated by the nations crap. Seriously, you're not ISIS or Al Queda.
4.Jehovah's witnesses do not go to war or take-up weapons:(Matthew 26:52)
True, as with a number of Christian groups. You are NOT unique!
5. Jehovah's witnesses believe and follow all the Bible. They do not pick and choose scriptures to suit themselves. They do not add to the Bible or add made-up words like Crucifixion,Trinity,Ghost, Purgatory etc..
They add made up words like Jehovah, they remove Christ as the mediator for most JW's, the make up doctrines such as a Generation being made up of two overlapping groups...and so on and so on...
6.Jehovah's witnesses preach The Good News of The Kingdom world-wide: ( Matthew 24:14) and to all races, colours, religions etc.. They fully understand what God's Kingdom is,..ie a Government and Jesus reigning as King since 1914.
They preach their interpretation, based on a date that comes from 607 which is a fantasy date as Jerusalem fell in 587.
7. Jehovah's people do not practice false or pagan teachings such as Christmas,Easter,The cross,Hell fire torment, and that all good people go to heaven.
They wear wedding rings and have weddings choca bloc with pagan practices, they use the names of the days of the week (all pagan), can have Pinata's at parties (also pagan...)
8.God's people do not smoke, swear, lie, steal, fornicate, drink-eat blood, use violence, gamble, get drunk or follow the world.
Yes they do. They, may get away with it, they may get reproved, and some may get DF'd but these things do happen. As for child abuses....
9.Jehovah's witnesses do not get involved with politics. They are no part of this world:(John 17:16)
Google JW's and UN NGO or OSCE.
10. The Jehovah's witnesses are the only religion to understand all the Bibles books and prophesies and visions in infinite detail from Genesis 3:15 to Revelation 22:19
No they don't. They just have a never ending carousel of New Light when old predictions run out of time.
Proverbs 4:18 "But the path of righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established" [ the day here meaning the end of this system of things].
See - that's what I mean. There is no evidence that the day here means the end of this system of things. It's just simply made up to explain away changes of belief.
Read what this poster here wrote - he certainly spoke more sense that you do: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/68661/1/THE-IDIOT60S-GUIDE-TO-BECOMING-A-JEHOVAH60S-WITNESS
