Those religions are complete fabrications.
How do you know?
yes- everyone has faults and makes mistakes; an organization even more so.. yet, you ignore all the fingers pointing at you.. many here have no faith.
many here go to churches who lie about everything biblical; look at x-mas!.
but at least we know god and christ and try to live up to their name!.

Wiz- your denial is tragilarious. WE didn't make up that name. However, you are corrtect on the baloney the WTBS has ADDED to the good news. Yet Churchianity doesn't even KNOW about the good news..
This isn't about whether JW's invented the word Jehovah - it's about the accuracy of that word. It's a made up name. Why would God want an incorrect rendering preached? How is preaching the wrong name any better that using LORD?
And if the WTBS was God's Organisation, why is he allowing 'baloney' to be added?
Ucan't- I have ALWAYS taken the WTBS dates with a BARREL of salt- however, 1914 IS pinpointed in Daniel's prophecies. The meaning as to what it signifies is what's at dispute.
1914 is NOT pinpointed in Daniel prophecies. To get there you start at 607, which is, as you might say, baloney.

We have made God's Name known again- when Churchianity & Judaism almost wiped it out.
Jehovah is not God's name. In Hebrew scripture the Divine Name was represented by the tetragrammaton. The closest to that in English is Yahweh. The big problem with the word Jehovah is that it is a hybrid word derived by combining the Latin letters JHVH (for the tetragrammaton) with the vowels of Adonai (which means Master or Lord). It's simply a made up name. Imagine that the translation of God's name in English was Bill and a group went round calling itself Walters Witnesses, saying that they were preaching God's name which they say is Walter whereas everyone is wrong as they call him LORD. It's irrelevant that they spend a colossal amount of time preaching - it's still a nonsense name.
Jesus foretold that in the end times the good news of the KINGDOM would be preached to the world.
The JW version of this goes as follows. Around 1914 there was a war in heaven, and Satan and his followers were cast out. Jesus Christ began ruling as King in 1914 and 1914 therefore becomes the start of the Last Days.
We don't need to even start on what the future holds. The above is all based on 607 being right. It is not. So this means the Witnesses have spent countless billions of hours preaching the wrong date for the war in heaven, the wrong date for when Christ took up reigning and the wrong date for the start of the Last Days! And peoples reaction to this unholy mess is how God will judge them as worthy of life or death?!
It's a shambles. How can this in anyway contribute to 'vindicating God's sovereignty?' How does God getting his people (or allowing his people) to preach false dates and then killing billions who don't listen to such nonsense prove his right to rule?
So it doesn't matter about Trinity's or whether other doctrines are right or wrong.
Once you've understood all of that, read up on the mess which is the Christian Greek Scriptures. And then you'll realise the whole thing is an utter waste of time.

And look at some of the nonsense they spout- and how they set rules that help most, harm a few, and sometimes go AGAINST scripture.
Stop right there.
The above applies to JW's (as you rightly said) and it applies to Christendom. You are a modern atypical JW. You know it's BS but your fall back position is - well where else do we go? And then jump about pointing at Christendom.
Grow up and do some real research on the Christian Greek Scriptures. Professor Bart d. Ehrman has written some great books which explain his journey from being a christian to an agnostic. Get your head round the huge number of inconsistencies that JW's and Christendom are united in ignoring.
Once you realise how much of the scriptures is a best guess, then it'll dawn on you that arguing over doctrines is liking re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic. A total waste of time.
What year was that nicolaou?
following my departure from the jehovah's witnesses, i have done my own research using preterism as a primary lens.
i would like to share my understanding of daniel chapter 2:.
31 "you looked, o king, and there before you stood a large statuean enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.
Some people reallly need to read Bart D. Ehrman 's books.
Once you've read them, you'd abandon the idea that the NT testement is inspired. You may as well be examining the Lord Of The Rings books for insight into the future.
ijust ran across this.
obviously its not a real talk but has anyone heard of this?

nothing about the bible students of course.

Nothing about the Bible Students of course. JW's says that because they weren't clear on the the issue of neutrality during WW1 they were punished with prison sentences for the Directors.
So it's interesting that God chose them rather them the Quakers or other Christian faiths who took the stand they did and suffered for it...
my husband and i (both born in jws with extended family all "in" except for one of my sisters who left when we did) left the church 5 years ago.
we did not fade, we just didn't believe it anymore, told our families so and left.
obviously, big drama in our family after this, messy feelings, etc.
Could you ask your sister if she can remember what she said?
GrreatTeacher is right - the GC is a good place to start. JWFacts has a good page on that, including a Jason DeBuhn e-mail:
http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/great-crowd-other-sheep.php
If you look up DeBuhn on the WT-CD Rom he is viewed very highly by the WT. So it lends weight to his comments.
As another poster said: James 1:17 is useful:
17 Every good gift and every perfect present is from above, coming down from the Father of the celestial lights, who does not vary or change like the shifting shadows.
Then show her the number of understandings of Generations, or the Faithful and Discrete slave. Why would God do that? If he does not vary or change, why would he teach something false as Truth.
Take her through Proverbs 4, not just 4:18. What evidence is there that connects 4:18 to our time? None! It's just a poetic passage comparing the path of the righteous one with the path of the unrighteous. There is nothing about new light being shed on Bible understanding.
Good luck!
