Any thought behind your " Avatar"

anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.
now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.

“Dear All,
I hope you are all well. It is bright and sunny here in London so I hope the weather is good in your part of the world.
We are continuing to make good progress on our inquiries into safeguarding and charities linked to Jehovah’s Witnesses; I am also pleased to say that we are in addition making progress in addressing the complaints we have received regarding governance and the public benefit delivered by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain. I am looking forward to being able to share further information with you on both counts in the very near future.
I would now like to ask people who have experience of the following to let me know if they would be prepared to make a formal written statement:
- Direct, first-hand experience
- Of safeguarding
- In charities linked to congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses
- In England and Wales
- After 2011
- And NOT currently being investigated by the police or going through the criminal or civil courts
I know that there are many people whose experience has been different. I would like to assure you that I value the information you have shared with me to date. I hope it will be all right for us to stay in touch so that we can communicate with each other about the way the inquiries are going; I in any case anticipate that I will be coming back in the not too distant future with further appeals for witnesses who have had different experiences.
I also recognise that there are many people who are not in a position to provide a statement. Please do not feel under any pressure from me to do anything that is not right for you; and again please allow me to assure you that the information you have shared has been invaluable in helping us to develop our lines of inquiry.
Some of you have already contacted me either directly or indirectly with details of your experiences. I am very thankful to you for doing this. I am however mindful of the need to ensure that whatever steps we take are underpinned by best evidence, and so this is why I am now asking you to consider working with me to translate the emails and letters you have sent into formal statements.
If your experiences are reflected above, I would be very grateful if you would consider contacting me so that I can give you more information about the next steps. I would envisage meeting in person and taking a statement from you. I would not ask any questions about the detail of the abuse but would rather ask about how the trustees of the congregational charities dealt with what happened.
I know this is a lot to think about so please let me know if you have any questions. I would as ever be very pleased to field questions on any other aspect of our work or simply to catch-up!

300 books and magazines placed outside The Shard
by pleaseresearch inhi all.. so i got a txt today from a very proud mum claiming that, the jw cart produced 300 book and magazine placements.
mostly from foreign speakers.. the shard is the tallest building in the uk.
this is where the cart was placed.. not a bad day they had really.

Not a bad day they had really. It was over 2 hrs. So that's 150 an hour. Every time I've always seen the cart out and about a city or town nobody has been to it.With apologies to your mother but I'm struggling to believe this,
I work very near the two carts they have there. One cart is near the Tooley Street entrance to London Bridge station and the other cart is near the Shard.
Firstly - the JW's behaviour. I see them:
- Chatting with each other
- Staring into space
- Flicking through Apps on their Smartphone
But I never, ever, see them talking to people or people picking up literature. It never happens. I've seen other JW's talking to them (maybe at handover points in the day) but no normal members of the public at other times,
I keep meaning to counter witness to a younger one sometime, but I'm generally walking though from one of our offices to another.
Secondly - why would foreign speakers.pick up English based publications? Surely they'd want it in their own language?
So for those reasons I'm struggling with 300 placements in 2 hours.

We are not beholden to men we support the GB because we see that God is with them.
Really? How does that work? They propagate false teachings such as the 1914 doctrine, the doctrine of the Great Crowd being in Earth, Christ being the Mediator only for the 144,000 and so on.
The verse shows that the ten men are not literally ten men but people of all nations and languages.
Really? All nations and languages? Are any of these 10 men Spanish? Chinese? Russian? French?
The same prophecy is used in The Septuagint and the tetragramaton is used YHWH showing we must use the name Jehovah, no matter how you pronounce it,

Be honest. Have you ever met a people more loyal than Jehovah's Witnesses?
Yes. That loyalty is dependant on loyalty to the GB - the Organisation. If someone express legitimate doubts, like with the false doctrines above, that loyalty will be totally withdrawn.
That's why we are constantly growing in knowledge of the Bible
Changing teachings because they run out of time is not growing in knowledge.

Being loyal to an insane interpretation of the Bible is not a good idea! 1,000s have lost their lives over this insanity!

what buzz word from the jw's do you hate & why?
by Sabin inso my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?
because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.
