Losing my Religion......
by flower inwell at 29 years old, after a lifelong relationship/belief in/association with a higher power i called god, here i am very close to taking an athiestic or agnostic approach to the rest of my life.
it really hit me the other day although my doubts have been there but i just have been forcing myself to ignore them because i was afraid to give up that religious part of me because its all that i have ever been and i was afraid of the unknown.
but i realized after getting through another one of those weeks from hell that it makes no difference how much i pray or how much i believe.

Which religeon is correct ?
by musky incan anyone name a religeon that is the correct one?.
my personal criteria would be: shouldnt celebrate holidays/ only study the bible, not publications with someones personal ideas/ people won't worry about dressing in exactly a particular manner, welcoming others personal thoughts on the interpretation of scripture even if it differs from others/ not demand money for membership.. any religeons like this?
?

Hi, Lost Diamond! Here are a couple of threads where we planned and then held our most recent Dallas Apostafest. Are you anywhere near? We'll be having another one before too long.

realization
by musky ini just realized this today.
i started doubting the witnesses teachings about 16 years ago.
being raised a witness made it difficult to believe that this was not the truth.

I don't spam anybody. Since I gave up Christianity my moral code has improved to the point that I deal with everyone in a principled manner.
Theocratic strategy? Nah. Agnostics have no god to lie for.

Telling a JW that you are anti-watchtower.
by jerome inthe time has finally come.
i am getting dangerously close to a situation where i will have to reveal to my gf's mother and siblings that not only do i not share their beliefs but the probility of them converting me to their religion is next to none.
relaying this information could cause one hell of alot of problems with the situation as it satnds.. in my country which is mainly christian the the jws eventhough not accepted are permitted to continue with their faith.

Complete reversal: from Witness to atheist
by Ephanyminitas ini'm pretty new here (five minutes old!
) and i'm curious: how many have left the organization and, in time, become athiests.
i was raised in the organization, so growing up, my thinking was -- of course -- stifled.

I don't believe in the biblical god, but I think there's too much order and complexity for it to have originated and grown to what we now see through a series of chance occurrences. I allow for the possibility of some form of higher intelligence. If it exists, though, I don't imagine it to be particularly benevolent, given the nature of life (eat other living things, or die).
I've given up hope of ever knowing the answers, and contented myself with living a full, rewarding life while I'm alive. If it turns out there's life after death, kewl. If not, my present life won't have been spent waiting for the ever-not-present tomorrow.

"ARMAGEDDON COULD HAPPEN"
by You Know ineven as apostate dubs plan their next apostofest, world leaders speak of the very real possibility of an event so dreaded that they are evoking the image of the biblical armageddon.
in the wake of the anglo-american policy revision of recklessly targeting various nations with the threat of a first-strike nuclear attack, it appears that iraq has been singled out as the first on the hit list.
in response to the increasing drum beat of war against the poster boy of evil, "sodom" hussian, the jordanian king has warned that an attack upon iraq may unleash uncontrollable destructive forces.
