It was my choice to read this site. But I thought it was a board for discussion about jw, not a board about the benefits of oral sex.

The elders are not masters over our faith. We must use our powers of perception to tell good from bad. I thought I would come to this site to offer comfort to the wayward sheep in this place. But the dividends that might come from comforting sheep in this place are negated by the losses this place brings to one's spirituality.

I am directing my words toward everyone who has said something in this thread. But to Cyrano specifically:

I am not making lame excuses. I believe that a Christian should think on that which is holy, clean, and chaste. Things presented in this place do not fit any of that criteria. The Bible also warns Jehovah's people about being contaminated by unclean influences. If one hears filth all the time, he will eventually digest the filth and become filthy. A man is the product of what his mind feeds on.

It is uncomfortable to be cussed out frequently, hear about oral sex constantly, hear explicit and unclean talk about penises all the time. I would much rather feed off of God's holy Bible.

This board is not an upbuilding place for true Christians. Too much talk about sex and the male organ. Time would be better spent going out in the ministry or studying God's word daily. I also notice that there is now talk about the possibility of terrorist action being carried out by ex-jws. But if you think such threats are going to deter jws from doing what is right, you got another thing coming. God is on our side and we will prevail. Get ready cause the end is coming. It will catch those who sleep unawares.
I will check in on this board from time to time to see if the environment in this place has gotten any better. I know you folks all need comfort through discomfort.

JWs at my door....return visit tomorrow
by mpatrick ini just had two nice jw women knock on my door...i invited them in and listened to their brief presentation and accepted the watchtower and awake.
they couldn't stay(had a bible study they had to go on)so they said they will be back tomorrow...i am playing the naive daughter of jw parents of whom i have had debates with in regards to jw doctrines...that way i don't seem to be totally oblivious to their teachings, yet not an "evil apostate"!.
i was taken off guard, so i am glad they are coming back....any suggestions on how to approach these two women without blowing my cover?

You might remember that Jesus also encouraged people to listen and do what the Pharisees said, even though they were hypocritical. Jesus said that the Pharisees taught what was proper but did not act in harmony with what they told others to do. So I am not sure sure that Jesus would have picked on some old Pharisee about his gastric disorder. He would have at least shown respect for the Pharisee's age.

All of the attendees had input to the decisions. The JW Governing Body meets in secret and issues rulings little to no regard for what "low level" JWs think. In fact, if a low-level JW has the temerity to offer an opinion, he'll be told to shut up or be disfellowshipped.???

It all depends on what you mean by "negative." What I mean is "consisting of negation" or a privation. So negative respect means to respect someone by negating harmful behavior towards that person. Positive respect means to show respect by active deeds and not just by witholding harm.

And though the catholic church has younger ones in the mix when it makes decisions, the church has hardly changed in all the years of its existence. LOL. My initial post was serious. I think it is a shame that people on this board insult old people, jw or not. They need to have more respect for the elderly. That is not nonsensical. As for what type of person I am, I do not think that people can discern my character by a few posts. Human beingness is a inexhaustible mystery characterized by the numinous nature of Da-sein. Man is hidden man instead of revealed man. So just let others judge me by my words. If they want to talk, then fine. But if you think I am a waste of time, avoid me. I will go away.
