  one benefit that jws get from being jehovah's people is the knowledge of good hygiene.

  before i came to be a witness, i did not think it was important to brush my teeth thoroughly or wash under my arms real good and use deodarant.

  i also tended to be a pack rat with a messy car.

  The Society has never denied that not all witnesses have the same standards of cleanliness. we are all learning. But you see that the elders of your congregation took care of things when it was brought to their attention.

  A friend of mine once said that he saw a brother use the toilet without washing his hands afterwards. The brother said something about this act and the negligent brother has been washing his hands ever since after pottying. If we were perfect, there would be no need for discipline. The Society knows what we need. We get food on how to be clean at the proper time.

  Sad to say, nothing you people have said in this place overthrows the fact that jws, as a people, are the cleanest group on earth. If we do what the wt tell us from bible, we will be clean. HS is also full of it. He needs to study psychology too. Adaptation is a valid concept that explains why people get used to living in filth. Have you ever talked to people with bad breath? They just talk and breathe in yo face like nothing wrong. They do not know that they breath laying people low. The wt reminds the brothers to brush teeth and tongue. How thankful we are for these loving provisions.

  We jw not perfect. we make mistakes and we learn from mistakes. Nobody perfect. The elders correct us, if we smell or if we dirty. Worldly people have bragged about how clean jw leave assembly halls. Some you people just wish to overlook that fact.

  Sir, you must know nothing about culture. Not every culture has the same standards. Did you know that some people in Africa have to be taught some of these things about cleanliness and other countries do too. Some people in united states need to be taught hygene. It does not mean they had sad upbringing. Sometimes money, education, and culture are factors. Not sad upbringing.

  Have you not heard of adaptation before? People get used to stink and filth after a period of time. Arsenio Hall used to joke that the person with the funky armpits is always the last to know that his pits smell unpleasant. You never had this experience?

  Like Comforter said, some of our brothers are still learning how to apply bible standards of cleanliness. Don't worry. Jws will perfect holiness in the new system.

  There are clean people in the world. Some worldly peeps are irritatingly neat freaks. But I like the jw balance. They are not fanatically clean but they stress cleanliness. I remember going to Bethel and observing how clean it is in that place. We jws are taught to leave the bathroom cleaner than we found it. It is not the governing body's fault, if we do not apply this loving counsel.

  Comforter is not in the habit of giving out his personal details on the net. Too many deranged people out there.

  I do not want to shame any culture. But some cultures do not believe in deodarant or they cannot afford it. They might also be unaware of it. Trust me. Some people need somebody to tell them to use soap and dish wash liquid.

  The wt contains all that good counsel on cleaning your body, home and car. No wonder you left the organization. You were not applying their counsel on hygene.

  Not all jws are clean to the same degree. My comments were general and meant to reflect the overall situation of jw religion. But jw as a whole are the cleanest people on earth and those of us that had problems with hygene in the past are still working to improve. Be patient with brothers who are still learning to apply 2 Corinthians 7:1. We must be holy as God is holy.

  jws really taught me a bunch about hygene. I thought it was manly and cool to walk around without deodarant on and having uncombed hair was the rage. I skipped a few brushing sessions with the teeth too. Too bad cavities took over before I got the truth. My kids will know better.

  Not all cultures are the same. Some people are too poor to afford deodarant or too ignorant to know about it. In some real poor countries, people do not even use soap to wash their possessions or body. A knowledge of God's Bible changes all of this.

Before I came to be a Witness, I did not think it was important to brush my teeth thoroughly or wash under my arms real good and use deodarant. I also tended to be a pack rat with a messy car. But becoming a jw helped me to clean up my act. JWs are the cleanest people in the world, both physically and spiritually. Didn't you all love the wt study today?

It was upbuilding, encouraging and absolutely splendid. The new releases are right on and the talks were food at the right time. I guess it is all a matter of perspective. Negativity breeds negativity. Less tv, internet and junk reading, they reminded the audience. Who can't benefit from that?
