  the verse from ecclesiastes 7 about the day of death and birth do not say whether to celebrate one or the other. but study history and you will see that the old jews of the bible did not celebrate birthdays. they thought there the day of death was more important than the day one is born.

  job is not referring to birthdays. it talk about feast days. the hebrew word used in job just means a celebration. it describe a wedding feast at judges 14:10. no birthday is in sight by this word.

  comforter tries to emulate the jews of God's bible. they did not celebrate there birthdays and the old timey christians in God's bible did not celebrate birthdays either. the day of death is better than the birthday. christians celebrating birthdays is a later development.

  ok, i've been out of the <ahem> "truth" for some time now.

  but, someone asked me a question the other day that i really don't know or remember the answer to.

  why do jw's refer to each other as "the friends".

  ... actually, connie was too nice to the jw leaders in her questions ... and i appreciate the two young ex-jw girls who connie interviewed ... they were straight forward, clear, and credible ... and they did a good job making the case ... and kudos to bill bowen for calling the watchtower's statement a bold-faced lie, because that is what it is ... the watchtower society clearly lied as to what they say their policy is, and what has been practiced in real life.

  i have little control over what will happen to those young ladies. we can only imagine how awful such abuse must have been for them. comforter would be upset that his children were treated that way and he hates to hear about abuse cases like the two young ladies tonight.

  people on this place may not like to hear it, but comforter believes there is a God in heaven that can right all these wrongs. He is the God of all comfort. there is no anxiety that the Lord cannot bear. God cares for his people and wants them to throw all anxiety on him.

  if someone commits a crime though, they must suffer the consequences. that is what law courts are for. the congregation needs to and will probably work extremely close with law agencies in the future.

  people in this place fail to see that comforter did not put bowen or the girls down and comforter try to keep it real. he said connie was fair. the truth is that you may be right, tex. maybe too much emphasis has been placed on helping sinner. we should aid the sinner. but the victim needs help for a long period of time. we need to learn from the past, as they say. otherwise, we will be doomed to repeat it. maybe future elders will give more attention to the victims.

  is that all you guys can do is insult those that disagree with you. we detest abuse as much as next man. but christianity also has duty to help the sinner and those against whom the sinner sinned (jude 22-23). you cannot understand the truth cause you not spiritual. it is a waste of time to try and reason with those who not reasonable (james 3:17).
