one of the key things i have noticed since leaving the witnesses and interacting with other faiths, is that they often mention the word "miracle!
" in that they will claim that their god had performed some sort of miracle in their life that brought about something amazing.
it is not always christians who say this either, as many of my "pagan" friends and myself have had spirit driven moments that were something that could not be displaced as "chance.
osmosis - call me a liar...thats your call....but i see the guy at church every sunday that he is able to make it
its not some random story...its a testimony of his healing at the hand of God.
my own personal experiance - was born with a hole in my heart (small compared to average babys born with holes in their hearts). church prayed. MIRACLE. the hole is gone. (if you would like to look into in yourself PM me and i will give you some names where you can look into it yourself)

MIRACLE: (abbridged version)
1. Just outside vancouver almost a year ago a man was brought to hospital
2. The Church Prayed for healing and comfort for his wife and family, he died
3. Recorded in his wife's Diary is "My Husband is dead..."
4. After being Recorded as dead, he then "sat up" out of his bed and was healed of the ailments that originally had caused his death (note: his high colesteral was still there and some other ailments were still in his body)
5. He attends church on a regular basis in Burnaby BC Canada.
I told this story to a JW once who was handing out watchtower magazines and he said "if it is true (which he is assuming i am lying in the first place) then Satan is doing that only to strengthen your belief in the trinity (and other mainline christian theologys which we had discussed earlier)"
i think thats pretty ridiculous. if that is not a miracle....i dont know what is
i found this web site while researching jws (my immediate family on my dad's side is jw, except for my dad, who was subjected to the programming from birth, and who seems to be caught in some strange world between the jw world and the real one).. for the most part, these are decent, kind, loving people.
the only problem is that they are jws!.
i myself am atheist, so in theory i should them to be atheist also, but i'd gladly settle for steering them into a different form of christianity.. anything but jw.

how is this verse viewed at a KH, i know the JW's ive talked with have this whole anti-military thing. and in this verse uses the analogy of a soldier. now i also noted the next verse where there is a serperation of the soldier not being involved with civilian matters.

i was just doing some recent observation of the youth group that im a leader at and i notice that there is this thing where we dont kick people out of youth group or really church for that matter....on the other hand is the jw where you sorta of make a minor infraction and your out the door.. .
so the question is...where do you draw the line?
i have kids at the yg who are disruptive and dont really pay attention when you talk to them but thats about it.
well thank you wombat. thats nice to hear.
and i think you guys are right. its not that i really have a problem keeping them in line, cause when i say to them "stop and pay attention" they do, but then 5 min later....its not like the leadership group is really thinking of kicking anyone one out. but the team has come up with a "contract" where they sign it and their parents sign it. the contract talks about the church is a place to build each other up and not put each other down. a place a safety. and most importantly a place to connect with God. now those are the basic rules. and if they dont abide by them then we sit them down and say "look this is what you did, this is what the consequence will be". maybe they have to go home from YG that night or maybe they have to do an apology in front of everyone at YG (like 40 of their peers). something like that.

i like those names, but i also forgot to add that this will not just be a coffee house, it will sell music and some other stuff too. we are going to try and get some items from 3rd world countries that when a person would buy it the money would go directly back into their economy....so not just coffee stuff

we have some names such as: FUSION and AXIS (or X-IS)
but i think for a coffee house that is based around connecting with a younger generation also needs some biblical founding....(and a cool logo to go with it) but a good bible backround too.
