My first time being shunned in public

so thats what it feels like.. i am not df'ed or da'ed, ... i have just stopped going to meetings.

my wife is trying to be as active as she can.. so all morning i am out of my regular routine.

late getting out of bed and late about everything today.. so i leave the house, and before getting to the office, i decide to stop at the mall for a quick, maybe 15 min, walk.. as soon as i get inside, taking my coat off, here is the elder who did everything he could in his power to get me out...and lied...and added to gossip that ran me outta there.. he and his wife spot me .. and turn there heads away and continue on their walk, .. eyes fixed on some thing away from me.. so thats what it feels like.........now i know.

so was it the teachings that made you hate the JW's or the people or was it just a result of the action you recieved for being df'd if you were df'd

I disassociated myself back in 1988. I just couldn't do all that work. I didn't believe that all that was required to show that you loved God. I had, also, started to have panic attacks at the Kingdom Halls (weird). I still believed in Jehovah and taught my children about him. I don't know why I still thought that the witnesses had it right. I didn't believe in all the teachings. I don't hate the people in the religion. I hate the religion. Well, right now, I hate the governing body for blinding their followers, making them be robots, making them people that are afraid to be independent thinkers.

a friend of mine told me tonight that he believes something is impossible.

this happens to be a something that i feel is not only possible, but 100% proven beyond all doubt.

g-cuddles, right now, I'm not practicing any religion. This whole thing with being a witness has made me more cautious about getting involved in religion. I'm trying to understand Jehovah? What is he about? I'm trying to understand Jesus? You know the statement: What would Jesus do? That statement applies more to me now. I'm not taking anyone word for religion. I'm going to have to do it my way. I believe that we should treat one another as we expect to be treated. I don't believe in judging people because you never know what anyone's going through.

I'm learning about me, religion, and the world. It's going to be hard for awhile, but I hope to find a comfortable place...to have a good mindset.

I had to admit that I was hurt. Especially, when you said that the people "who usually respond to your post didn't". It was like you were telling me to not bother to respond to your post because I'm not in your league (some more shunning). I was like what have I ever said wrong to you? Then I thought do as he wishes, don't respond to his posts. It took me awhile to even respond to this one. I felt that I might get dissed again. I guess it bothers me more to get shunned by ex-dubs then the dubs.(I know you're still a dub, so I don't know what to say to you, yet.)

Oh well, live and learn. You're a popular guy on this board. I doubt that a few newbies getting put off by your comments would of been noticed by you.

Anyway, I'm glad that you clarified your statement. The original statement did blow my hair back!

So many here have said that they have run into dubs at Walmart. Maybe, we should set-up a ex-Jehovah's Witness booth at Walmart, and put up a sign that says learn the truth about Jehovah's Witnesses. Have our own little tracts and stuff.

I don't care about the dubs not talking to me. It never did bother me until my children got baptized. My children shunning me makes me angry. It has made me hate the organization. It has made it clear to me why I don't want to be a witness. It has made me research the organization. I feel sorry that they are so blinded, but that's about it. I feel no shame.

today i sat and really realized how absolutely hopeless i feel.

i have had so many things happen in my life this year and a huge percentage of it has been items i have to face or tackle.

i have prioritized and organized myself to death and i am so very overwhelmed.

You can cry on my shoulder whenever you like. I'll, probably, be crying with you! I hope this doesn't sound patronizing, but having a handicapped husband (21 years) has made me have to be stronger than I want to be. I get overwhelmed and sensitive. It's like, I know I can do this, but do I want to do this? *sigh* I empathize with you.

I know that you heard this saying, but I'll say it again: If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody going to be happy.

So, take care of yourself. Make the time.

When you were a witness, did you ever feel that you were persecuted?

from what going on with my daughters, i'd say they are the ones that's trying to persecute me.

their actions are making me want to take repercussions against them (take my car back, phone, etc...).

i'm sure if and when i do these things they will say that they are being persecuted.

I asked them to go pick up their nephew today (He's only four. We, my husband and I, babysit him while his mother works.) because we were running late. I just asked them to pick him up from my sister-in-law's house and bring him over to the our house so that my youngest daughter could watch him until we got home. They had the nerve to say that their nephew wasn't their responsibility and that they had something else to do (probably go to a meeting or something).

While witnesses, I just wonder how much stuff that we brought on ourselves.

if you could sum up your time in the borg with just one word, what would it be and why?.

for me it would be guilt.

guilt about not doing enough ministry, not enough study,doing too much secular work, the list seems endless.on the odd occasions i felt i'd done quite well you can bet we'd have a talk saying more,more more!.

Vunerable (sp?)

They really caught me when I was weak. My husband had just had a devastating surgery. He loss his leg and half of his pelvis to cancer. The procedure is called a hemipelvectomy. I was still in my twenties. When I went through that, I questioned life? I fell that anything bad could happen at any time. They fed into this. I was a nervous wreck. It was a terrible time.

Life is weird.
