Does it shock you that there are so few people on this board?
by free2beme ini read once that the witnesses loss between 30,000-50,000 members in the united states alone each year.
i know the numbers for worldwide exits, must be even larger and times that by all the decades of people leaving and you come to a fairly nice size number.
i realize some of these decreases are deaths, losing track of correct totals or a percentage returning right back into the congregation.

I don't think that they have computers or that the ones that do have computers are computer literate. There's a girl that I work with (not a witness) that has a computer in her home and she doesn't even know how to turn it on!
So much for the information highway!

To our JW friends, are we too spiritual minded for wife-swapping?
by ithinkisee inso the other night there was a wedding shower for my jw brother-in-law and his fiance'.. it was one of those wedding showers where couples attend.
all the guys sit in one room and watch football and complain about their wives, and all the women sit in the other room and gossip and bash their husbands.. well that is how it usually goes.
i looked around and noticed all the husbands were hovering over the others wives and flirting and talking dirty and gossiping and brushing up against each other and so forth.

When you were a JW, which would you have prefered living on earth or heaven
by JH inwhen you were a jw and believed that either you could live in heaven or on earth eternally, which did you prefer and why?.
although we were told that heaven was a better place to live, that we would see god, and that we would live eternally and never die, i prefered living on earth, never see god, and not 100% sure of living eternally, cause we would still be mortals forever, even though we could live eternally on earth.
most jw's i know said that they would have prefered living on earth eternally in perfect health than living in heaven.

I couldn't imagine living in heaven, hell, or a paradise earth. That's what gave me doubts about my spirituality. I just couldn't imagine living in a place where you were "happy" all the time, nor could I imagine living in a "place" where you suffered horribly all the time. So, I guess that's why I did believe that hell was just the grave, and that the dead know nothing. I was a spiritually weak one. I just couldn't believe a lot of stuff. They kept telling me that I didn't have faith in Jehovah.
Bah humbug! Now, I know better.

What do you all think?
I think that you better get out of that blue funk. Things get better with time, but you've got to be willing to help. You're out of the dubs, now go on with your life. It's never to late to start.
Now, the bland food doesn't sound to bad. I've got an upset tummy from the overspiced pumpkin pie. (blah) And going to sleep right now sounds pretty good to me (I work third shift.). Matter of fact, I'm going to make a swan dive into the bed right now! (sounds cushy)
Sleep tight!

I never got around to putting up a tree, but I do have gifts for everyone. I just put them in front of the fireplace. I was really suprised to find out that everyone was so excited that they had a gift. Even my husband asked, "What did you get me?".
My oldest wanted to open hers early. Poor kid missed out on a lot of Christmas-es (however you spell it plural).
