Purza, good going on your part. Even though you were in a panic, you reacted appropriately. It was a good day! You saved your dog's life!

My dog ate rat poison today
by Purza inyes, it has been one of those days.
not only did i see a car full of jws at home depot running out and targeting unsuspecting victims before they walked in the store, but when i reached my destination (our rental property) there were two jws at the door.
the two at the door only said hello to me and my husband and it probably had something to do with our dog growling at them.

i found the concept really interesting.

From the name of the link, it appears that the site could be sponsored by an ex-witness?
Churchianity Today by Chip Brogden Email this page | Printer-friendly versionWe must always be sure to distinguish between the Lord's invisible, universal, spiritual Church (the Ecclesia) and the non-profit religious organization that meets in a building with a steeple on top. The difference is incalculable, and we dare not make the mistake of confusing the two. Please understand that we do not question the right of any religious group to peaceably assemble together, elect their leaders, receive monies, have membership requirements, and govern themselves in the manner they see fit - as long as we realize that such a right is a civil right and is neither inalienable, Scriptural, or mandated by God Himself. That doesn't make it wrong, but neither does it make it spiritual. The Ecclesia is not an organization or invention of man, but an organism filled with the Life, and whether we worship "in Jerusalem or in this mountain" is not as important to God as whether or not we worship Him "in Spirit and in Truth."

Witnesses have been taught from day one that there will be people, things, or events that the devil will use to try to make you stumble. They are taught that it may even be your mother, father, sister or brother. So, in order to get them out, they are going to have to come to their own realization that there's something "fishy" going on in the religion. They are going to have to "realize" that it is not the "devil", but that there is truly something wrong with the religion.
I don't know how to approach my daughters about the wrongness of the religion without appearing to be a "demonized" stumbler from the "darkside". They're going to have to "pull the wool off" their own eyes. Even though, I had disassociated myself years ago, I still couldn't discern that Jehovah was not the Watchtower. I found myself believing that I was not a follower of Jehovah because I didn't like "his organization". I didn't realize this until after my daughters were baptized. This was 16 years later! Talk about having someone's mind on lockdown.
The key is there somewhere in a seed that I planted before they became witnesses. I am hoping that I planted the seed of common sense. Hopefully, some event that will occur in the religion will make it grow!

I don't know what to believe anymore. I do know that I want nothing to do with organized religion.
That's pretty much how I feel. I'm against "Churchanity".

Meeting Clothes
by Nosferatu ini absolutely hated the concept of "meeting clothes".
all my meeting clothes were hand-me-downs from other brothers.
i always hated getting hand-me-downs from the fat jw kids who were older than me.

I hated being dressed up. My mother would dress me up in those silly looking Shirley Temple looking slips. I called them "can-can" slips. You know, the kinds that you see the women wear in western movies. Those slips itched like chiggers! And to make it worse we had to sit still. As most of you know, I wasn't raised a Jehovah's Witness.
Anyway, I hated being dressed up. It made me feel uncomfortable. Then I became a dub. Oh! Sh*t! Had to start wearing dresses and slips again! I can't explain how horrible this was! When I'd go to the Kingdom Halls, I would be sitting there having panic attacks in those stupid dresses! Trying to sit like a lady! Don't move around so much! Don't go to the bathroom so much! Be still and pay attention! Keep the children quiet! Don't sneeze so loud! It was like being in hell!
I hate being dressed up to this day!

Roy Ayers - Take all the time you need (Ubiquity)
War - Deliver the word
Maxi Priest and Shabba
Maxwell - (Now)
Mandrill - House of Wood
The Blue Note Remix Project (The New Groove) I, especially, like the remix of "Friends and Strangers"
Well, that's all that I can think of now. I'm tired.

Mrs. McDucket, I can't tell if you're kidding (hard to do over the internet lol), but the real URL is www.freeminds.org . The wickedminds thing was parody.
Thanks Rebel8, I didn't know that it was a parody. Sometimes, my skull is SO dense.

Hilarious comment made at work today about JWs
by Jez inthis old wrinkled little gray haired man about age 65, said in the staff room:.
"jws came to my house on the weekend, so i opened the door, grabbed my coat and said, "i can't talk, i just found out my wife is giving birth at this very moment!!!
" then i slammed the door, and fell on the floor laughing to myself.".

Sirona, sometimes, you just can't win. They use to think that I wasn't a Christian because I was a Jehovah's Witness. Oops! I guess that they were right! I just didn't know it!

I just thought of some other reasons. You, probably, all ready know all of the reasons that I've listed, but just in case you don't...
Not having a work visa
Not having a social security number
Having been convicted of a felony
Being dishonorably discharged from the military
Not having a license in a profession that requires one
