That's what my mother said that they were. A cult. I kick myself everyday for not listening to her. We were told that they "twist the bible", and that you should "never even try to argue with one", not to even open the door. This is one real case of "If you don't listen to your parents, you'll have to go to the school of hard knocks". No pun intended.

Disturbing Information Passed on in Annual Elders Meeting?
by Dune inas you all may know, the elders around america have had (or will have) their annual meetings.
you know, the ones where they are trained and brought up to date about the whole scheme of things.. anyway, an elder who i happen to be close to was telling me yesterday that some troubling/disturbing things has been going down in congregations worldwide.
he also mentioned that it will be mentioned in watchtowers and km's in the next few months.. anyone know what he may be talking about?

What's with my kids?
by MsMcDucket inmy twins who are shunning me have now invited my youngest daughter and my grandson to come over to their apartment to visit.
my youngest doesn't want to go.
the grandson wants to see his aunts.

I'm keeping my grandson while my daughter's in Maine. She's supposed to be back today. I ended up letting them (daughter and grandson) go with the twins. They took them to see the movie Chicken Little and had them over for supper. The grandson had a grand time. He's only three years old. Well, I'm going to take everyone's advice to heart. It's going to be hard to do the reverse shun thing, but that's what I need to do. I told my twin daughter that I loved her. She just looked at the floor. Sad day in my history book.

by Why Georgia inthis question comes to mind right now because i seem to be surrounded by pregnant women.
3 of the mom's in my sons' kindergarten class of 12 - are pregnant and in the other classes i notice a similar trend.
it's not a large school - maybe 60 kids max between the preschool and kindergarten.

When I was pregnant with my twin girls, I had a heckuva time thinking of boy's names that I liked. I ended up picking the names "Rock" and "Stone"! Eheh! I guess it's a good thing I had girls!

People tend to think that my oldest daughter's name sounds like a stripper's name. Her name is Ecstasi Amore'.I think that they're ignorant because they associate the word with sex, and not with what the word means. She works for a prominent phone company. She had to stop telling people that her name was Ecstasi because it always got the people to talking about her name, and the company keeps toll of the time that they spend with the customer. So she told everyone at work to call her Stacy.

OMG It's snowing

i was watching the news a coupel of hours ago and the snow was just a few flakes downtown but it was clear here.. i just looked up and the snow is coming down ---- sideways and it ain't just a few flakes anymore.
it is melting as it hits the ground but it's still snow in the air

Ozzie's post reminds me of a lady that I work with who is from Africa. One day, she said she seen this white stuff coming from the sky. She called her husband, who was at work, and said honey there's something white falling from the sky. He had to tell her that it was snow! She went outside and marveled at it. Took pictures of it and sent it to her family back in Africa. She thought it was just awesome! Just like manna from heaven!
