  Is Christmas for Pagans?

  given that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin, is christmas truly for pagans?.

  i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.

  would any true pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?.

  Becoming a dub f'd upped everything. It makes you think in these stupid ways. Before becoming a dub, I never even considered any day a pagan holiday. Then the dubs started telling me this and that. Made me scared to leave my house. They were telling me that even putting out a "welcome" mat on the doorstep was pagan. I have to do what I think is right. I'm not trying to honor false gods. I'm trying to live my life the best that I know how. If I keep thinking like a dub, I will go absolutely crazy!

  We have to remember that the dubs don't have it right either. They put their own spin on everything.

  Misrepresentation

  my understanding of the "big snooze" is that the essay maintains that jws have misrepresented quotes from secular sources.

  is this message board not an obvious misrepresentation?

  it claims to represent jehovahs witnesses (in its title)yet the vast majority of posters are anti jw and many have been expelled.

  He just loves all of the attention that he gets here. It's more exciting here than going to the meetings. I bet that no one listens to him at the meetings.

  after all these years of not celebrating christmas or holidays, i know that i have put my children through a lot.

  i know that they have suffered because of my beliefs.

  i have two children that decided to be witnesses, and two that did not.

  After all these years of not celebrating Christmas or holidays, I know that I have put my children through a lot. I know that they have suffered because of my beliefs. I have two children that decided to be witnesses, and two that did not. I left it, totally, up to them (kind of). I didn't make them go to the meetings, but I lived a witness lifestyle. It had to be hard on the other two. Not to mention not giving gifts to my mother.

  those are my two words for 2006 and beyond.

  mellow cause the world is what it is and i can just be thankful that i can create peace and color and wonder in my little part of it.

  Mouthy, I had shingles a couple of years back. I didn't know why my stomach was hurting so bad. It felt like I was moving another kidney stone. Then the rash broke out. I feel for you. Hope you feel better soon!
