I'm going to have to take some kickass classes! I don't know why I don't like to hurt people's feelings especially when they are getting on my nerves! I don't understand why my boss always has me in charge even when there are other RN's on duty? Is it because she thinks I'm too wimpy to say anything about it? Or is it because she thinks that I'm the one that will make sure that everything gets done?

I'm in charge, frequently, at work. I tend to be too laisser-faire. I expect the people that I'm working with to know their jobs and do it. I don't interfere with them unless I have to. Ok, the staff has picked this up about me. Now, it seems certain ones are trying to "play me". What approach do I take with these types? I don't want to have to argue with them, and I don't want to take it to the big boss. I just want them to do their jobs. So, what's a good way to tell people to do their jobs and to stop asking for favors?

i was watching pictures of the stampedes at the haj and it occurred to me that throwing stones at the pillar of satan was a really ineffective way of dealing with evil in the world.
it occurs to me that drawing scary pictures of satan in the watchtower is similarly ineffective in combating evil.. any thoughts?

i snort like a pig; blow my nose, frequently; have post nasal drip; sneeze like a hyenna; have gunk in my eyes; and sleep poorly.

In the UK if you have severe problems, you can go to the docs and get a course of desensitization injections. Do they have a similar treatment available in the US that you could possibly try?
Emo, I tried to get through a series of those shots and never finished. It takes so long to get desensitized, and I hated sitting in the doctor's office. I have heard that the shots don't work for everyone, so I got to thinking I was wasting my time. I think that this is something that I'll just have to learn to live with. I just hope that I don't get fired during my allergy bouts. I tell you, I'm almost worthless during this time. When it comes to working, it takes all the strength that I can muster to go in. On days that I do make it in, I load up on my medications, and just muddle through.
Such is life! I wrote my boss a note explaining my predicament, but I don't know if it will help any. Sometimes, I think that it is SO ironic that I'm at work helping sick people when I need to be at home in bed.
Oh well! I need money. Gotta pay those bills. Ya know what I mean?

since many of you good people are former jw's, and since blood seems to be such a huge issue at this forum, do you now donate blood?.

I think that if I tried to donate blood, I'd end up getting a transfusion. I've always been anemic, but not bad enough to receive a blood transfusion. On the otherhand, I did sign my license to become an organ donor if I were to die.

I was at work on Friday and kept sneezing, my eyes were swollen and watery, and my head hurt around the sinus cavities and then the right side of my nose swelled up.
Under74, when mines gets that bad, I end up having to take a steroid shot. Does steroids help your allergies? You sound like you better get to the doctor. Quick! (((hugs)))
