RRRRRRRR- this type of thing really steams me
All the witnesses in our hall were SO anti govt with all it's corruption etc but lined right up for any assistance or welfare type opportunity.
But whhhooooooaaah when the summonds came in to do jury duty and pay a little back to society, oooooohhhh no! Why would you help this dying old system along when you could go out in service.
They were SO lazy. Ya know -forget about voting or doing ANYTHING to try to steer the local/fed govt to providing the kind of benefits you think help society -just trash any secular effort of citizens trying to help society in any way and just soak up all the welfare benefits you can.
Hypocrites.
PS I am not anti welfare BTW, I accepted food stamps in college- but I also go out and register people to vote, try to get people in office who I think are good, etc.

Convention talks
by Pistoff inas i sit here, i am listening to the wav file of yesterdays sessions.
ugh.
first, there is the talk about the (usually dumbass, can't keep a job type) brother who decided to come to the convention instead of looking for work to feed his family.

Describe your Spirituality after Leaving JW's please

I would say I am an atheist but there is no way to prove conclusively that there is NO god...
So I guess I am a reluctant agnostic.
If I had to categorize my beliefs -I would call them secular humanist. I believe also that it is important to have a sense of wonder for the universe but that understanding it in a scientific manner does not preclude getting deep feelings of awe from it. I don't really know if I would call myself spiritual, though. In my mind I attach a semi-negative connotation to the word "spiritual" but not because of the JWs.
Thanks to posters that ask questions like these.

That's a pretty sweet ride, OFG.
I have a flourescent yellow singlespeed (not bmx) with "Oakley" stenciled on the side. Drop down handlebars and a BELL!
I like the blue theme on your bike.

Parents Getting Separated
by GetBusyLiving ini haven't posted in quite a while, hope you all are doing decent.
well, the shitbag watchtower snake is back just when things were getting good.
my mom and dad are getting seperated now because a couple of elders told my still active dad it was a good idea since she has apostate "leanings".

GBL that is so terrible- I am sorry that you have to go through this. I hate it when my parents have a hard time with anything, I can't imagine anything on the order of what you must be experiencing.
I know that the WT can severely mind-control people and that sometimes it's not the dub-victim's fault... but do you think your mom really wnats/needs to be with a man that lets these random men who have this facade of authority dictate the most important relationship in his life?
Again, sorry for your pain.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS?
by juni inpapajohn was just deleted for deceiving all of us and trash talking some kind people.. i don't know how someone can sign on as a newbie, have loving greetings come their way, ask questions and receive well thoughtout answers and then turn like a snake and say disgusting things to those that have wished them well.. i am glad that this mean-spirited person is gone.
i have feelings of betrayal like i experienced w/god's so-called organization.. peace to all of you ones with honest intentions.
and thank you forum assistants for handling it quickly.. juni

That was totally awesome. I went on a night when there weren't that many people there. Gorgeous.

New Lite!
by rassillon ini think everyone has the wrong understanding of what "new lite" means.
http://www.epicurious.com/cooking/how_to/food_dictionary/search?query=llight (or lite) is a virtually meaningless term used in a variety of ways by individual manufacturers.
according to the food and drug administration (fda), the only parameter for this term is that it must contain "less of something," which means that it can refer to reduced calories, a lighter color or flavor (as with some oils), a fluffy (lighter) texture, or reduced fat, sugar, alcohol, etc.. .
-

Totally funny- I love the fluffier texture and "less of something"...
Sooooo... what is the story with papajohn and Gregor...? In an earlier thread papajohn asked Gregor and someone else not to respond... Sounds like an interesting scoop. -

ooooo- I went there last summer a couple of times. We were working at Bandolier Natn'l Mon. and took of to 10,000 Waves for some relaxing weekends.
I love their lotion named "Hinoki" it smells like pinyon and cedar. mmmmm I bought it while I was there.
Did ya go into the co-ed hot tub?
The women's tub was more fun and relaxing and while the co-ed tub was mainly older ...rotund gentlemen and gay dudes there was one hot guy there with his little kid.
-oh yeah- and I got NEKKID!!!
