During the bookstudy (I think it was for the Trinity brochure) our book study conductor said:
B.C. is for "before christ" and A.D. is for "after death"
-My mom had to yank my hand down as I (maybe in 6th grade) said to her "that isn't right..."
btw, the ones about outside is where the weeping and gnashing etc.. are totally hilarious. I am so going to use those.

What's the most stupid comment a JW told you?
by JH ini remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.
yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

by Seeker4 inive got some interesting quotes about global climate change, evolution and the bible from a well-known scientist i interviewed last week.
thought some here would enjoy these, as these are issues we often debate on jwd.

What emotions were you feeling as you started reading the posts on JWD?
by What-A-Coincidence inmy reaction: shock and awe (tm).
i was an elder and had just left bethel.
i didn't want to believe what i was reading especially from current and former elders.

I felt super excited that I finally found an exJW discussion board that was intelligent and had interesting info on JWs. I had only previously been on the JWO (Jehovah's Witnesses Online) which is not very impressive.

Can we start a Secret Santa Recieved/Sent Thread?
by restrangled ini'm worried because i sent a christmas card plus had a gift sent by ups over the internet about 7 days ago and haven't heard anything.
i would feel really feel bad if my person didin't receive their gift or card.

The articles daystar posted are blank in my screen...
but I think they might be talking about methane which cows (and rice fields) produce tons of. Even though it is a stronger GHG than CO2, there is exponentially more CO2 than methane so that's why putting controls on CO2 output from cars (and factories!) would be so much more effective.
sixofnine has a good article referenced there about it!

ha ha.
One Saturday night my friends and I were out on the railroad tracks drinking and we see the cops coming. So one of us drops the bottle (big plastic water bottle full of Tequila and Gatorade...) on the ground at our feet and kicks it stratight out into the woods just as the police reach us.
We have a little chat and are off the hook! SOOOO smooth. ***insert smiley with rolling eyes here***
Anyway at the meeting the next day the two cops were sitting across the aisle from us at the meeting! Dressed like regular "brothers"! I really don't think they recognized us. But why were they there?!
How bizarre, we were like "...w.t.f...?"

What XMas Present Would You Like This Year???
by minimus inone thing that jws do, whether they were "strong in the truth" or not is accept presents.
even if they don't "celebrate" thanksgiving, they'd still take the turkey from the employer.
if someone sent out a birthday gift or christmas present, a witness would still take but never givein return.
