DanTheMan,

ahh yes, it's the end of another work / school week once again.
it's time to breathe in some friday night air, kick back, relax, maybe knock a few back... .
the question is, what are my fellow jwd-ers doing tonight??.

Hey Claw, you paint a great picture !!! Cheers Everyone!!
.
whenever there is bad news around the world, the jw's turn this into good news for them, because they see it as a sign of the end, so they are encouraged.... if less people join their religion, they will say that the end is close because everyone must have made up their mind, so they become encouraged.. so, what can discourage the jw's?.
.
I have to agree with FIELD SERVICE. In our area no one, I mean no one is coming in. Yeah there are studies but none of them progress to baptism. The public has become to well informed.
And MEETINGS. Even the most dedicated are completely bored and insulted with childishly inane message.

Here's one to ya Super Becka! OK and another
(I'm on my 3rd)
So what else can one do in Newfoundland on a Friday night? A few of my buddies went there in ' 90 to "help where the need is great"
They reported that going there is like going back in time. ( 100 yrs. or so)
From where I live in NH it seems like NWFD is at the end of the planet. Please don't take this as an insult in any way. I'm just fascinated with anyone that lives in a colder, more northerly location than me.
Here's to warm thoughts and sunny days.
.. you scored as agnosticism.
you are an agnostic.
though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in god, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic.
Okay, so I'm a little unsettled to see SATANISM as my number 2. ( Maybe everyone in the cong. is right)
But isn't this test awesome...It demonstrates to me that the beauty of humanity is in it's diversity.
i also tried the next day and she wasn't home.
i ran into her in a different park about 10 days later, and she was with another guy.
i told her the same.
Thanks for sharing that story -- it has so many elements similar to events I experienced. The total awkwardness yet soooo exciting prospects of actually being alone with and KISSING a girl !!! How nostalgic.
I love it when people on this forum relate stories like this and it reminds me of something long forgotten.

You scored as Buddhism. |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Buddhism. Do more research on Buddhism and possibly consider becoming Buddhist, if you are not already. In Buddhism, there are Four Noble Truths: (1) Life is suffering. (2) All suffering is caused by ignorance of the nature of reality and the craving, attachment, and grasping that result from such ignorance. (3) Suffering can be ended by overcoming ignorance and attachment. (4) The path to the suppression of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path, which consists of right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right-mindedness, and right contemplation. These eight are usually divided into three categories that base the Buddhist faith: morality, wisdom, and samadhi, or concentration. In Buddhism, there is no hierarchy, nor caste system; the Buddha taught that one's spiritual worth is not based on birth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

i wanted to mention this book by jon krakauer.
it is an excellent piece of journalism about the mormons and was critical in helping me find my way out of the borg.
because it deals with a different religion it certainly doesn't seem to threaten yours as a jw.
I wanted to mention this book by Jon Krakauer. It is an excellent piece of journalism about the Mormons and was critical in helping me find my way out of the Borg. Because it deals with a different religion it certainly doesn't seem to threaten yours as a JW. However as I read it it was hard not to begin to see some similarities going on. A friend of mine who is still deeply in the Org. read it as well and couldn't sleep at night while reading it. Somewhere in his subconscious he knows. Shortly after reading it we both traveled to Salt Lake City and while there looked for it in bookstores. It was nowhere to be found. No doubt considered "apostate" there. It might be something to share with family or friends depending on your situation.
if you had to write down just a few sentances about why you left the truth, what would you say?.......
jambon;.
wholeheartedly embraced it for a few years after love bombing etc then saw widespread hypocrisy.
Yup, no need for sentences here...it's wrong
(helps to put something in the subject line .
it's that time once again for yours truly to try to channel minimus and ask a pertinent question sure to spark a lot of interest and debate amongst the ex-jw community.
the question: do you still pray?.
I wouldn't call it praying (especially to a god) but I do like to take moments now and then to reflect and express my gratitude to the universe for all that I have.
Before meals as a family we all raise our glasses and give a good "Cheers!" Anything to celebrate life.
