I wish I knew what happened. I knew Greg a little, he lived a couple of towns away..He was very instrumental in the rebuilding of the Natick Ma. assembly hall, was there every day before this all came out.

so one freaken' weekend as i passed by a wt building, a tightwod bethel elder (now just an elder) asked me how i was doing (bla bla bla).
W-A-C, I gotta tell you, even though it makes me angry when I think about things like this that happened, I now mostly just feel bad for them. It's almost unbelievable how judgemental and small their world really is.
I remember at a Watchtower study one day the PO commented on how the young man in the illustration was displaying a "worldly" attitude by having gel in his hair. You should've seen the look on the WT readers face and everyone else who had some sort of chemical hair control!
This guy practically rules the cong. now. A red-headed German who has his hair groomed "correctly" and all his ducks in a row. Anyone who doesn't follow the example is, you know, "following Satan's world".

last week i sent an e-mail of a compilation of of traits of a cult (i posted it here mon.
or so) to every jw i had an address for.
i knew it would come and sure enough it did!
I hear you Gumby and Mary and for the most part I haven't done a whole lot else and don't plan on doing anything more in a direct way. I just woke up in the middle of the night about 4 nights in a row and that's all I kept thinking about. I don't know, something was just driving me from deep within and although I was a little nervous doing it it felt great when it was done.
(Except for when I realized I made a huge blunder. I had planned on sending it anonymously and so set up a new e-mail account. Brain-dead when I did it, I put my name on the account thinking it would only send the new address. You might imagine my initial shock and panic when after sending them all out, I checked how it appeared when I sent it to my other account--and there was my name all over it!!!! Holy Sh*t!!!)
I quickly got over it and thought well... here we go!
as some of you may know, i am a recently self-deconverted jw.
the experience of deconversion was at times emotional.

Last week I sent an e-mail of a compilation of of traits of a cult (I posted it here Mon. or so) to every JW I had an address for. I knew it would come and sure enough it did! Some of the most vehement things people can write : "Don't ever do that again! Don't drag us down into your pit of sin! How can someone so rebellious as you think you can help us! blah , blah ,blah" It opened up some converation with my family though (they hadn't talked to me since August) and my point to everyone was : Do you understand what it feels like to get a Watchtower in your door that takes the beliefs you hold near and dear to your heart and trashes them saying they're "false religion and from Satan" ? Do you understand it can be as insulting as saying that someone's race is from Satan? What you're doing is religious bigotry. I was simply trying to hold up a mirror for them so they could have a little compassion for the people they talk to, put yourself in their shoes. I hope it makes them stop and think for at least one moment. Thru this another idea for a billboard came to mind : "Jehovah's Witnesses--we can say anything we want about everyone elses religion, just please don't say anything about ours...that's apostasy"
i got up the courage to send this paper i've been working on to every witness i have an e-mail address for (including my family and a former co).. listen to this!!!
within 20 minutes i already got a reply from a jw sister who expressed how "dumb she now feels" after reading it.. obviously not that i want her to feel dumb but her eyes are opening!
for the first time i think i see some progress.. based on the book "combatting cult mind control" by steve hassan .
No other replies yet, but I only sent it out at around 2pm est. ( I really don't expect to hear much but they gotta at least think)
