What went wrong in your congregation?
by The Rebel inthe target is converts.. why does it seem such an outrageous aim for a congregation to recruit new converts?.
in my old congregation, the enthusiasm was there but the knocking on doors produced zero " baptisms" in my final years.. a) why so little interests?.
b) was it the internet ?.

Oh oh I know one!!! F-ing Tony Cain. Absolute arshole of a guy who made our families life hell. Before becoming a CO he was a watchtower troubleshooter. And we had the misfortune of him "sorting" the congregation down in Lancashire I was in at the time!

Has the Great Witness Trolley/Cart campaign produced ANY results?

the 3 congregations at the hall i attend have trolley schedule noticeboards.
i see trolleys in the high streets and markets locally.

When I was still in the troly dollies were still new (ish). The report from the visiting CO was in one day alone 21000 books were published in Greater London..Apparently (get this) London JWs on that day had published more books than the whole of America!
Me being the indoctrinated fully in believed this and was sooooooo proud to be in the one true (cough...bullshit) religion. Now I'm fully out (yay) I kinda look at this proclamation the way I do with just about everything this cult proclaim. It usually starts with a rather rude four letter word and ends with eyes being rolled!

The revelation book really takes the biscuit when scrutinizing the artwork. Some of the illustrations were created by a 3 year old in my opinion. When this book was first released, wasn't it billed as a book full of beautiful colorful illustrations?
Has anyone had a look at the picture with Jesus and his chums smashing the earthen vessels, you know, the one with the claw hand? Take a look at it and look how disproportionately angled some of his chums heads are!

There have been reports (here too) where the watchtower have took all moneys saved by the rank and file to build a new KH only for it to be sent o the watchtower on the promise that they will look into building new facilities. Once the watchtower grabbed the money they refused the application to build a new KH!
I wish there was something that could be done about this because its nothing short of stealing!

I love stories like this, elders are no longer revered as they used to be. I had a similar experience to you. I actually chucked a couple of elders out my house because of one deciding to get shirty with me!

we were quite impressed that we made the 30 hrs.. last month, we decide to do it again.
after handing in our application forms, and being approved, our service overseer asks me, "how many hours are you going to do?".

........"It was good that your Service Overseer asked you beforehand how many hours you were going to do. Otherwise you would have ended up doing 30 hours (unknowingly) and it would have been more embarrassing to you that you could not complete your auxiliary pioneering. Jehovah helps."
