This I'm afraid is something the rank and file say all the time. The watchtower do apologise for their mistakes. The reason why I have stopped talking about anything Watchtower with my mother is because anything that is said against the watchtower is countered with how wonderful they are....including the watchtower has always apologised! Absolute poppycock!

by lurkernomore inso i just met with an old 'friend' who wanted a 'chat' after no contact for the best part of 4 years.
she obviously heard about the wonderful news of my abrupt fade :d. i guess i wanted to prove to myself that any future meet ups/chats with jw's would be pointless.
needless to say i proved myself right.

he came across as a very intelligent person, but i noticed that a post of his about medicine showed that he seemed to lack a lot of knowledge about medical testing and the scientific method.
so, i asked him some questions, and his reply seemed to contain a logical fallacy in every sentence, concluding with a quote from mercola.com, one of those really dodgy conspiracy theory / anti-science type of sites.

Vanderhoven7, I second that. Mathew 24 has been fulfilled 2000 years ago. The fall of Jerusalem being regarded as the sign of the end. How any religion can use a 2000 year old book and apply it to today's standards I have no idea.
The key is the disciples asking when THEY would know the end was coming. Not us.

last sunday we studied how jesus is directing the slave to build an average of 5 kingdom halls a day since 2000. why has he changed his mind and gone in the completely opposite direction?.
if this 'change' is not securely lodged in their craw by the time i am through, then i will eat my hat..
