...then jesus lied about how to identify the false prophets.. ...then jesus lied about the sign of his presence and of the conclusion of the system of things.. ...then the watchtower bible and tract society disassociated itself from true christianity through a repeated lack of neutrality.. ...then i will happily die at armageddon knowing i stood up against a god who supported a deceitful earthly corporation as his own.. but, i am not afraid they are right.

Lol at Blues Brother. This is how I feel now, when I get the odd flash of "oh shit, what if it's true".. fortunately they are getting further and further apart! I now realise I dont like this God of the bible, and even if he does exist his treatment of humans is diabolical, and he has always manipulated them with fear and punishment. I dont want to serve him.

I SO remember that talk about serving God even if Armageddon were not coming, i always thought it was about as true as "his commandments are not burdensome"!!

Pressured

jw memorial is coming up, i told myself i'm not going this year, having a mother a couple brothers and two sisters still "in" all pressuring me to attend, saying things like "this may be the last memorial b4 the end", you've heard the spiel before.....crap like that is putting a lot a pressure on me this year, wish they would just stop it and worry about their own crappy lives!

I'm very much in the same boat. However I think I've decided not to go. I feel that if you go you are only perpetuating that you still believe and give your family hope. If you dont go it's a clear sign you have finished.

I had the 'last memorial before the end' speech, so I asked my mum if going to the memorial would be enough for me to survive armageddon, and she couldn't really answer it was! So I said I'd rather be hung for a sheep as for a lamb! I plan to have something else going on that night!

Not a case of needing his money is it!!!

Its a case where he LIED in court to try and save his money, and smear his wifes reputation, she had to prove that the baby was his!!!!

But he would rather humiliate her than divide the assets up fairly. Because this wasn't a case of her having everything, just a fair division at the end of a long marraige.

wow, i have never seen it this quiet.

must be with the weather clearing things are getting a bit more active for everyone.

i have a question... since i joined about 6 weeks or so ago i have noticed people joining almost every day for a while.

I joined the same day I found the forum too.. But after an inital flurry of posts I took a month or so off to digest it all! I was still reading, but didn't post at all.

I dont think it's a sign to be discouraged when people post just a little and move on. But now I'm enjoying reading and posting again. But am (and will be forever) grateful to people who have been around a while and always lend an intelligent word to a meaty post!

I can honestly say this website has been the turning factor in me having the courage to face up to what I believed, and not only me, but hopefully my two children and maybe in time other members of my family!

I used to like the guy, til he tried to prove he HADN'T had sex with nicole during a certain month so he wouldn't have to pay her more in divorce settlement because it meant they had been together 10 years. Because I mean, he was obviously so strapped for cash

Then it came out she was pregnant with his baby.. Utter, total complete B*****D!!! Hate him with a passion.

Bethel Police pulled me over for a violation

wearing faded jeans only as a bethelite is a cause for concern for the governing body.

i had jeans that were not totally faded as the "world" would consider them.

so one freaken' weekend as i passed by a wt building, a tightwod bethel elder (now just an elder) asked me how i was doing (bla bla bla).

Our PO once came up to me and said "how much" and I said "sorry?" and he explained that in old times only prostitutes wore skirts with slits and the length corresponded to how much they charged.

As I had a modest skirt on with a small slit just so I could damn well walk!! I said.. "Guess I need a bigger slit Eric, dont want anyone accusing me of being cheap!" and I laughed, he didn't, but what could he do, I was a woman and had no privileges to remove!!!

Cheesed me off for years after, what a disgusting thing to say to a young girl in the cong.

Although a CO we had then (anyone remember Brent Smith?) did comment to one of my friends that he could see through her top, which i thought was hideous, if something HAD to be said then I think he should have asked his wife to do it! Just an opportunity for him to embarass her I think.

Anyone remember modesty patrol at conventions?? Sisters that were asked to go around and comment to others if they were dressed innapropriately!!

AAARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHH, Once again, I cant believe I was there so long.

LOL!! I was thinking this just as I read it. I think the witnesses attract weirdos! My old congregation certainly had it's fair share, my stepfather was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, personally I just think he was a nasty bastard but he was loved by the congregation, he nearly murdered my mother before the elders sanctioned her leaving him .. she would never have done that before of course, because it was better to die and have all your children scarred for life than risk the dissaproval of Jehoover!

I cant imagine any pain greater than losing one of your kids, but the way people give up after losing a partner is something that bothers me, it's almost as if their own life means nothing, that they can find no pleasure in doing things alone. Personally I have loads of things I love to do alone and give me pleasure and I think it can only add to a relationship if you both have separate interests.

Sue probably never will find happiness because she's one of those women who invested everything in her family, and now they're gone there is nothing left for her. Reminds me of my mother, now we've all left home she spends her days phoning us and wondering why we haven't asked her round more often! I wish she'd be more independent, but nothing else appeals to her!

But I also agree, I have friends who've contemplated suicide and now years later are so glad they didn't, I really dont feel it's the answer.. except maybe in cases where the person is physically unable to look after themselves and wants out.. but that's a whole new debate!!

People can buy your cell phone records. Does this scare you?

the company i work for has a huge part in the cell phone business.

i know that people are seeing these online sites that claim that you can buy a person's cell phone call records.

as a person who knows and works in this industry, i want you to know this is 100% true and possible.

Why should it scare us?? I'll post my bill here if anyone is going to be so fascinated with who I called and who called me..

I think it's fairly obvious which way it will go in the courts, it will be illegal as it's clearly an infringement of privacy, until then I must stop my heavy breathing phone calls to Vin Diesel.

I'm sure some of what Aguest says is interesting, but it's Sunday morning, I have a slight hangover and really why use a thousand words when one will do??

I thought this discussion was going to be good to read, but ended up scrolling down huge pages of Aguests commentary because it's just too WORDY!! You have probably reached very few people because they haven't got the time or energy to wade through all the flowery born again insincere words to get to what is actually being said.

Also this is a classic case of someone who MUST have the last word..lol. Because every time someone has replied Aguest has cut and pasted and justified and will carry on doing it until we are all asleep or dead from boredom and then presume they have won because nobody has anything to say, but in fact we will have merely closed the window and gone back to see if there is anything in active topics!
