AE, it seems to be a concience matter. I posted something awhile back (maybe on a diff board) about how I had stumbled across some JW's in search of some old friends. The people I found were of good standing and their friends list had many elders on them. I will say that of the people I knew, very few have FB accounts.

Deleting, yes because they can't access my page (locked down tight). Hiding you can't because you're only hiding their updates from your newsfeed which only you see ;)

JW or not, people that post overly religious stuff either get hidden or deleted (usually deleted)

Marijuana---Is It That Bad?
by minimus ini've never smoked tobacco or a joint in my life!
i know some regular pot smokers and they're pretty cool people.
they typically say pot is better than alcohol and that it should be completely legal.

It should be noted that the biggest issue with pot in BC is export to the US where it's more illegal. Again, stricter regs won't fix that situation. Hell, I've been seeing BC bud here for over a decade (which btw is cheap nasty crap. Think a good microbrew vs Budweiser)

Do you ever feel bitter...
by Newborn in...that if you had never been a jw you could have been in a totally different, hopefully better, place than where you are now?
both when it comes to proffession and family etc.... sometimes i feel that i never explored any hobbies coz preaching was my hobby.
i know it's not too late for babies or new hobbies but still sometimes that makes me sad.. love.

There are reasons why hard drugs are placed on the illegal distribution list.
Almighty, do the research and tell me if you really believe that MJ is illegal for our own protection, not just government control. The same parties that "enforce" the drug policy are also linked to it's distribution. A good majority of drug related crimes (I won't say all) are due to the legal status, not the nature of the drugs themselves. I'm not saying that all drugs should be illegal, just that some are solely listed this way for reasons other than our well being as citizens. The war on drugs doesn't work, so how about focusing on the social and societal issues that create the addict?

Almighty, do you instead recommend continuing to pour massive amounts of money into a drug war that doesn't work, ridiculous programs like DARE that don't work, etc?

Agreed Goshawk. For a drug that has been so villified for so long, it really has minimal (if at all) addictive qualities or side effects. Especially when compared to the legalized, taxed and regulated substances that are so readily available. If I get a few minutes I'll try to round up the info on the history of MJ and it's fall from legality.
