No One – Good Point
Gog of Magog is found in only Ezekiel 38 & 39. At Ezekiel 38:15 it describes the homeland as being from the Distant North. It also states the Gog is a Prince of Magog.
So in one Ezekiel Gog is a Prince and in Revelation it is a location. We also have the possibility of two different battles. Armageddon and the one after the 1,000 years.

Analysis
If you read all of the paragraphs under the subheading it appears that they are talking about the King of the North and not the Beast associated with the UN. Since the fall of the USSR many Witnesses have speculated on who would replace the USSR as the King of the North.

That is not to say that this is not a trial balloon for a change in their UN belief. They did speak in the plural when they address the unknown human agencies.
I think some people are reading way too much into this one paragraph. If it is only confirming that they do not know who the King of the North is, it is really not a change.
We all know that they must tone down their message on the UN. This is because of the problems they are having with many European countries. A few years ago they referenced a speech by Franz that indicated that the Wild Beast is not currently standing in the Holy Place. So they have started to back off.

I agree that speculation about these simple few words is a bit extreme. But, in the 1960s and 1970s they would have taken 5 paragraphs to prove that the UN was the instrument of the Devil: That would attack and destroy Babylon the Great. The attack would extend to persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Great Tribulation. And now they say that we should not speculate on who the human agency will be!
In my view the Attorney’s forced them stop referring to United Nations because it was causing them problems in the European Countries. I am waiting for the spoken adjustments that will be made by Circuit Overseers. This will be just like the initial change in view on voting.

by ``connecting the dots" between the leadership's admonition to mind one's manners at the hotel, to tip approriately, to avoid ``double-dipping'' by eating and then loading up on unapproved takeaways for lunch at hotels that prvide complimentary breakfast, to refrain from losing all inhibitions in after-hour socializing and to forego the donning of outlandish skin-tight (or conversely loose fitting ``hip-hop" outfits) forte duration of the assembly, a picture quite different from the idealized notion of jws being a worldwide fraternity of solidly mature, temperate ministers who lives find fulfilment only in the service of god and their fellow man.. what sort of adults need to be lectured in such terms, let alone a group that boasts of its aloofness from satan's world?
what does it suggest about leadership's awareness of how far removed from reality the rank and file is from their literature's stylized imagery?

I used to get really annoyed at those Hotel lists. The nicer Hotels would never make the list because they refused to offer their rooms at $45 or $50 a night. I would rather pay $100 or more for a room without fleas.

My Memorial Experience-not so good
by wednesday inwell i just got back form the memorial, and well it was not all loving and warm like scobbysnax had.
two or three couples spoke to us, not one elder.
an elder came up to some people who had apparently just showed up for the first time, and they were all over them.

Jesus was more than likely talking about the Gentiles as "the other sheep."
Please explain then the scripture at Revelation 20:4 through 20:7. It clearly shows a Ruling Class during the 1,000 years. But, it also states that the rest will not be resurrected until after the 1,000 years are over. Which in itself causes problems with JW doctrine.
I agree the Bible does teach two classes. But, it is not clear to me that Jesus did not intend for all to partake of the emblems.

1935 CLOSING DATE FOR THE 144. 000 ANNOINTED

if this date was the closing date1935 , then the significance of extra bodies taking the place of the former chosen ones here on the earth will eventualy be seen as a complete fraud why.
because the organization will eventualy produce an extra 144000 on earth still alive .

People used to question the person’s sanity if a younger person started partaking of the emblems.
Currently at least five of the GB came in much later then 1935. Some I think became part of the anointed class in the late 1950’s or early 60’s. Thinking people want to know what was going on in their minds.
There must have been quite a few of the 144,000 living in 1935 that could not keep up with the "New Light" and had to be replaced.

What do jws go by? confused
by kls ini have been out of the cult for a long time,27yrs.so i don't remember a whole lot.some threads bring up old watchtowers or awakes ,etc or past predictions .when i bring these past teachings up to my jw husband he say's,,that was in the past we did not know any better, god will tell us when we need to know,we are still learning.so do jws follow old teachings or new?
i am really confused,should i not bring up old teachings?is it old new what.

Depending on the topic you bring up, JWs will respond to issues in one of two ways. "The Light is Getting Brighter" similar to how your husband replied; Or "The basic beliefs that C. T. Russell taught have not changed.
From the very beginning of the Watchtower they have always thought that we are living in the "Last Days". When the end doesn’t come they claim that it is difficult to fully understand prophecy until after it is fulfilled.
Because of this belief, many Jehovah’s Witnesses from the 1960 to 1980 era regret that they didn’t concentrate on some of the more important aspects of life, (earning a living or having a family) because they thought the end would come. Many others are made to feel guilty because they are not meeting the standards that the Organization and the Elders set before them. Some but not many will say they wouldn’t change a thing about what they have been doing the past 30 or 40 years. What group would you say your husband falls into?
If he falls into the last group nothing you can say will ever convince him that something is wrong. If he falls into one of the other groups there is hope.
