Anybody donate blood and send in the "You're Welcome Watchtower" card yet?
by Shawn10538 injust curious if anyoner has.. you can download the ajwrb brochure from ajwrb.org, and send in the page that is pre-addressed to the watchtower society, and basically says that you have donated blood and that the blood you donated will likely be transfused int a jw saving their lives.
it then suggests a "thank you" might be in order from ther watchtower since your own life blood was sacrificed so that jws could be saved.. i think this is a powerful action.
i hope the wt gets lots of these cards, and i can't wait until someone posts the "thank you for the thought" (cuz we all know that's how they are going to word it right?

Judicial Committee Preparation
by Marvin Shilmer injudicial committee preparation .
today i added a new article to my blog offering practical recommendations for individuals invited to attend a judicial committee hearing as an accused, and for those who then choose to attend.
it offers an approach that is completely within watchtower policy yet will give reason for any elder or potential witness to take great care moving forward.

In one of my trials what worked to back them off me altogether was a letter by someone on the net called DOC Something. Doc Bob? They were drilling me and hounding me for months, then I sent them and the Society a letter on Doc Bob's site, and suddenly their whole demeanor had changed. I'll Post it.

1. Ask the elders to wait while you get something to write on, then ask and carefully record answers to each of the following questions, including the names of who said what:
I’ve done that over the phone and they asked point blank, “Are you writing this down?” I said, yeah I just want to make sure I under… “Click.” Their hang up was THAT quick.
4. Who will be present for the hearing?
I asked that. The answer was, “Some faithful brothers that have your interests at heart. We are not allowed to tell you anything more.
5. What is the allegation? Why don’t we talk about that at the meeting. Don’t worry it’s nothing too serious. (It really was)
6. Will there be any witnesses testifying at this hearing? If so, who and what will they testify to? “We are not allowed to divulge such information.”
7. Will there be any documents presented at this hearing as evidence? If so, what are these documents, where did they come from and what do they say? “we are not at liberty to divulge any of that ionformation.”
8. Ask whether you can have copies of any evidentiary documents in advance of the hearing for preparation.
9. Will any documents of record be made of this hearing?
10. Who will make/produce the documentation?
11. Who will have access to the documents of record? Will anyone have access to documents of record that are not present during the hearing. If so, who?
12. Will this documentation contain information about my person, including my name and details discussed during the meeting?
13. Will I have the same access to any and all documentation of this meeting as does anyone else who is granted access? If not, why not? (The answer to this question will be “No”. But you should ask anyway.)
14. Will I have opportunity to object to representations made in any official documentation of the judicial hearing?
15. Can I record the meeting with a voice or video recorder? If not, why not?
16. Can I have a personal advisor/advocate of my choice present during this judicial hearing who is not part of the judicial committee but is a Watchtower appointed elder? To all those questions and any question even close to those questions. The answer is NO!
I don’t know what kind of judicial hearings you are accustomed to Marvin, but these suggestions would NEVER fly. It would just put them in a defensive mode, and they won’t budge an inch on any of them. I just can’t believe there is a judicial committee out there that would even respond to any of those suggestions. I’ve only been in on 2 and there was no give and take involved. It’s pretty much “show up and we’ll tell you about it when you get there.
I question how tried and tested these suggestions are. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone cuz it would just get tem disfellowshipped.
Do you have any anecdotal evidence of people using these suggestions and how it all turned out for them?

I had a similar experience. When I left the JWs, which had just as much to do with problems I had with the Bible and not necessarily the JW religion, I decided to read the Bible for the first time without just assuming it is true and god's word from the get go. I didn't even get past Gen. chapter 1 before I said all the stuff you are saying.
My conclusion is that no one really believes in the Bible. They just ASSUME the Bible.

How to Record a Judicial Meeting
by 00DAD inintroduction: this subject came up on another thread and seemed important enough to justify its own thread:.
judicial hearing procedure, chapter 7. recording devices.
"recording devices should not be allowed.

Also, the poster here assumes that all elders actually know the rules and do not go beyond them. i was kicked out of a meeting for taking notes. They actually called the cops to have me removed when I argued with them. It wasn't even a judicial meeting either. No pens, no paper nothing was allowed. i was actually seeking reinstatement. That was the last time I ever bothered with the whole mess.

I recently recorded a meeting with two pastors and myself in another church using a digital camera in my pocket. Even though my legs were under the table and the camera was in my pocket, it picked up every word perfectly. The meeting was about why they were letting a child rapist live and work in the church. I successfully convinced them to get rid of him. I never needed to use the recording.

The Watchtowers Unholy Trinity
by Dogpatch inthe watchtowers unholy trinity .
most jehovahs witnesses believe that when the society appears to clearly designate a new doctrinal position on some issue, like blood transfusions, it is what they really follow and believe.
such naivete is typical of those who have never worked in a large corporation.. .

Hi,
What the service dept. said to me was, verbatim, "Taking a blood transfusion is not a disfellowshipping OFFENSE." The context of the conversation was essentially discussing, "How bad of a sin is taking a blood transfusion.'
What i'd like to see, however, on the part of JWNers, is that they do not believe me. They shouldn't just take someone's word for it on issues like this. so I beg you to call Bethel yourself, and ask them directly, "is taking a blood transfusion a disfellowshipping offense? Yes or no." Then if they say no, as I am sure they will, ask them then how it could be a disassociating offense since disassociation carries with it exactly the same consequences. If you call, and I would like to hear about thousands of people calling, tell us what they said. I'll have to figure out some way of documenting this response it looks like. So I'll work on that.
In the meantime, I still maintain that noone should fear disassociation for taking blood. if you are a JW don't even think about it if you are in a medical emergency. Do what you have to do to live.
If the society were really serious about disassociating its members for this life saving medical treatment, then they will come after you. They will hunt you down. After all, don't they want you to die over this? But they won't come after you because they aren't really serious about disassociating anybody over this. if you have a big mouth about it they'll nail you for that you can bet. But just the act of taking blood on its own is not going to get you in trouble according to history.
It's like a gobernment saying, XYZ is against the law and will get you the death penalty if convicted. But then they never arrst or cite or fine anybody for committing XYZ. people would demand answers. Is it worthy of the death penalty really? if so then why aren't we putting people to death over it? Why are we not even arresting people for it? But if it's not really worthy of the death penalty, as your actions suggest, then why are you saying it is? what would be the benefit of saying such a thing?

I guess you had no trust that God would protect you at all then. I mean, does a person have to be criminally insane to undertake a mission into other people's lives and properties, telling them, as you said, how wrong and evil they are and that they are going to die if they don't listen to you? And then being such a bastard about doing this thing that nobody invited you to do, and nobody ever asked you to do (come on their property to change them) that you would carry a gun and use it presumably, if they got irritated at you for being the complete bastard you obviously are? YES! You really do have to be a total wack job, witness or not, to do such a thing.
"Hey I woke up this morning, got my gun, and came to your front door, just to tell you that if you don't like what I'm doing here on your property without your advance permission I'm going to shoot you in the face."
No, nothing crazy about that at all. I guess it's what white imperialists have been doing to dark people for milleniums isn't it? Hey we came from across the sea to steal your land and kill your gods, and if you don't like it (while we're also raping your women and children and stealing from you) then we are going to just kill you. Aw heck, we're just going to kill you anyway. Bang!
Wow...
wow....
Wow....
here's a thought- IF YOU HAVE TO CARRY A GUN TO DO SOMETHING, JUST DON'T DO THAT THIONG. STAY HOME A SMOKE A JOINT. DON'T GO OUT. JUST CHILL AND DO SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE CARRYING A GUN. OR DO SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MAKE OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO CHASE YOU DOWN WITH THEIR CAR.
