if jw's can be(or should i say are) df'd for smoking, why aren't people df'd for obesity.. it seems they say that you are violating your body and hurting it from smoking but i've never seen a person live over the age of 80 that was obese.
just seems like being obese is worse than smoking.
I'd like to thank all of you for your comments.

Thanks for the welcome (Individual Wife).
I am sometimes oblivious to how my questions or comments will sound to other people. It sounds one way to me an another way to someone else. I'll work on it.
i've asked quite a few jw's and it seems the answer varies.
some say 1000 years other say 6,000 or 7,000 years.. only one gave me a answer that i found logical.

Only one gave me a answer that I found logical. A creative day has no set amount of time. All the creative days could be different amounts of time. He gave me the example of saying "In our day". Then he asked how long that day was. It seemed like a good answer. I'm just trying to get a concensus.

Let me see if I'm on the same wavelength here.
I've seen the effects of smoking on people and I've seen the effects of being overweight on others. My father died of lung cancer due to smoking and of asbestos (worked with brake pads) and it was an ugly death. Three months from the time he was diagnosed.
I've also seen obese people struggle day in and day out with their weight problem. From gasping for breath after walking up a flight of stairs to having several heart attacks during their life.
My point was only to find out the reasoning behind the way the Society picks what is good and what is bad for you. Nothing more.
I'm just a sinner, I didn't mean to start addressing anyone in a mean-spirited way.

All I'm trying to figure out here guys is if something is deemed harmuful to your body, and you have control over it and you don't take steps to correct it, shouldn't it be a df circumstance.

People like you amaze me. My first post and I'm getting flamed by the likes of you. Next time read a little carefully. I did not say gluttony.

So when and why did the banning of smoking come into play?
