I'll definitely be making pancakes tonight for supper, just like my mom does for Pancake Day. I'll be sticking with some standard issue chocolate-chip pancakes with real maple syrup.

.
is anyone else making pancakes tonight?.
i'm going to make some with ice cream and chocolate sauce, unless someone can suggest something better.

do the jw's in your community have an overall good reputation?.
are they generally known for helping their neighbors in times of need?.
are they known as people who contribute and give back to the local community?.
Around here, there aren't many JWs at all, so most people don't even know that they exist.
I think that for most people around here, Witnesses are just the weird people who don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays and then go door-to-door to bug you at the most inopportune times to try and give you magazines and convince you to join them in their Christmas and birthday-free world.
Fortunately, I don't think their efforts work very often here. I haven't seen a JW going door-to-door in years.

i read this question in people magazine and lol'ed at the question.
i guess one of mine would be:.
to know that i won the lotto and that i don't ever have to work again, and to know that i can share the wealth to those that have none.. any one else?.
I'm not the type of person to jump up and down when I'm excited, but I can think of a couple of things that would make me extremely happy and probably lead to some jumping:
- Winning a lot of money - I'd love to be able to look after my family and make them all very comfortable, I wish my parents didn't have to work anymore and if I won any amount of money, that's the first thing I'd so, make sure that they'd never have to work ever again.
- Having my boyfriend tell me that he doesn't want to be a Witness anymore - he's not "technically" a JW, he's not baptized or active or anything like that, he just clings to some beliefs (while ignoring most of them), and I'd love to get a phone call from him next month, saying, "Happy birthday, Becka, I love you so much and I'm not a Witness anymore", nothing would make me happier.
Those are about the only things that would make me even remotely happy enough to jump up and down on a couch.

dear lady lee,
i said some things i shouldn't have the other day and i'm sorry.
a wiser man would have waited till his blood had cooled but i just opened my big mouth and belched forth insults.
Before I go I want to thankyou for helping .. that shy girl what's her name with posting photos from file. I just went to Tech support and found your instructions Lady Lee.
I think you might be talking about me, Lady Lee helped me out with posting some pictures.
Hey, Lady Lee, I know I thanked you on that thread, but thanks again for the photo-posting help.

been thinking about this.. i am considering making the 2005 watchtower cd available as a download for a period of time from my server.
i'd compress it and make it small as i could, it would be in iso format so you then burn it using nero to cd.. i will look at how practical that would be sometime this week.. who would find this helpful?
I'd certainly love to have a copy of this for my research, if you can make it available, I'd be very appreciative.
Keep us posted!! If you can make it available, let us know!!

i just stumbled on this site today, and am i ever glad i did!!!
i was raised as a witness, my mom being a witness and my dad a non believer.
growing up i never wanted to follow all the rules, and often broke them behind my mothers back.
Hey janelle, welcome to the board!! Glad to have you along!!
You'll find all sorts of people here at JWD, from all different walks of life and with all sorts of religious beliefs. I think that most people here are on a journey to figure out what they want to believe and what they don't want to believe, but we're here to help each other out and hopefully, everyone will be happy with whatever they find.
Me, I've never been a JW, I'm just dating an inactive one, and I'm not horribly jaded with my faith - I'm an Anglican, just like everyone else in my family, and proud of it!! I'm quite happy with my faith, I'm very comfortable with it, but that's just me. Everyone here has a different view of the world and religion, so everyone here has a different opinion on that concept.
Stick around, there's lots of stuff to talk about and lots of stuff to learn here, and I'm sure you'll make lots of friends here, too!!

in a boe letter dated 2/2/06, the wts listed four special campaigns for 2006:memorial, wed apr 12, 2006 (in a boe letter dated 2/3/06 wts wants elders to help all inactive & new ones attend the memorial.
the letter said attending the memorial is often a stepping stone to serving jehovah...visit every inactive person in the territory and give an invitation, give every family member that is friendly to the message an invitation).special public talk, sun apr 30, 2006special handbill to advertise district convention - wts is printing handbills to advertise the "deliverance at hand" district convention.
three weeks before the convention, jws will distribute the handbill in the territory, with family members, and others.

Any faded/inactive person out there the elders will be trying to contact you.My boyfriend's been inactive forever, I highly doubt that anyone will call on him to pester him about attending the Memorial and becoming active.
last night i was surfing the net when i came upon this beautiful quote.
i thought that everyone here would get it.
those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
