Did anything violent happen at the KH or Bookstudy when you were a JW?
by booker-t ini will never forget when i was a jw and was attending the bookstudy on a mon night a man broke into the bookstudy which was in the elder's garage and pulled out a gun.
he shot the father of the jw teenage girl he was secretly dating.
apparently the girl's father had forbidden her to date this non-jw man in his 40's.

Huge shock!
by Crumpet ini just got a major shock.
i can't believe the new levels of cruelty possible within families who are jws.. a friend on this board who i've known since i was a baby practically has managed to get me a picture of my little sister who i haven't seen for 8 years - the one who i've mentioned my dad said was working on the bethel quick build team.
the one who i've described my fears that she and my younger sister are staying single until armageddon.

Dear poor Crumpet,
"Seldom is a man so fortunate as to be related to his true family by blood"....Henry David Thoreau.

What a great, crazy bunch of people. What a warm welcome.
A wombat is an Australian marsupial, 'bout the size of a small pig but furry and loveable. It eats roots and leaves. But it doesn't drink rum and slap it's missus around. (That's the bush turkey, does that).
Actually joking about the drink bit. Been in detox twice and I don't want to bother those good people again.
Yeah...in 1973 I said to myself "Armageddon-outa-here" and pulled up stumps. (Sorry, cricket analogy - means called the game quits). My three older siblings had been in the troof since the late '50's and were really pissed off. They had been pioneers and had risen to very responsible heights in the WTS.
Unfortunately for them I have been very successful in life. Some downs - but that makes it more fun in the long run. Naah........leaving the WTS is so liberating. Their shunning is really funny.
Half of my WTS nephews and nieces have been set free from the troof with more to come. They know who to turn to.

Hi Under 74.....You're the first response to my very first post on the internet. Gee....computers work!!
Mate, why do Yanks spell "whisky" with an "e".??
I can't quite focus on the label to ascertain the proof of this bottle of Bundaberg Rum.( I know it's not over-proof, else I wouldn't be able to correspond.) Bundaberg is a sugar town here in Queensland, Australia. It is the State's most popular drink. Unfortunately it tends to make some blokes quite aggressive. Unlike beer or whisky.
A mate from California left here last week with a bottle. I expect to hear of a marriage break-up soon.
Should I quote a biblical text or criticism of the WTS here so I can stay on-line?

Hey Crumpet.........
Your spelling suggests that you've made the same mistake.Burn in Hell, wicked child.
(And I just said that I wasn't going to talk for the sake of talking....Okay I had some demonised rum left over but it will be soon gone. Back to normal then.........Sorry).

Hey thanks all you lovely folk for responding. I just got myself a new big bunch of friends.
I'm gonna try not to be angry or bitter or talk just for the sake of talking. I haven't been to a KH for nearly 35 years and they are still trying to lay it on me. Actually it is flattering that I am so important to them.
They can remember every little thing about me from over 40 years ago - but they can't recall 1975. So funny really.

I've never posted anything on the net before. Just want to see if it works. I left the WTS in '73 - just couldn't wait those extra two years. I read this site most days and really enjoy it. It makes me laugh to see the WTS fumbling and stumbling. But my heart really goes out to the many who are hurting.
Many a time I wished to comment.....so if this works, now I can.
Before I go...do you recall a recent story about a brother who bought a jacket from a thrift store only to find that it was demon-possessed and it threw him off the porch?? Don't laugh.I bought a second-hand bottle of rum once and you wouldn't believe what the demons made me do.
